UK Pinball Show 2008

Well we are here at the UK pinball show for today and tomorrow at Wicksteed Park near Kettering.
Sam and I are really looking forward to playing most of the 100+ machines that are here.
The event officially starts at 7.00pm tonight, playing until around 10.00pm. Then all day Saturday and Sunday.
We arrived at lunchtime today so have spent the afternoon helping out lifting and setting up some of the machines for people.

Wow - This show is AWESOME!

We played from 7.00pm to 10.30pm, all the games are free to play, after you have purchased your entrance ticket. We bought a weekend ticket, which lets you play Friday evening, all Saturday and all Sunday for £17 (approx $34) - which I don't think is bad.

However I think this weekend may hit the wallet hard in other ways

Now that's the million dollar question!!

I still do a lot of ebay window shopping of the Pinball variety...

even though it's probably been a while since I updated my Pinball and More Pinball Threads

I expect that I would only have space for one, some day when I get that extension built, so I am always interested in what others think of Pinballs such as Star Wars, Star Trek & TNG, Terminator, Simpsons, Pinbot, etc, etc

Sounds like a great time. We have an arcade and pinball exposition in Winter Haven, Florida (Orlando area) in October. I have the date marked and am really looking forward to it. It was cancelled just before the 2004 and 2005 Florida hurricanes and the building they held it in was damaged in 2004 and 2005. This is the first time back since that time. It should be a great time. Hope you have a great time and I look forward to the pictures.

Sorry I have not posted more about the show as yet - but we have been far too busy playing pinball and pachilso

Anyway we are home now and I have loads of photos to upload but I am too tired to do it tonight (but will try to do it tomorrow).

Anyway the show was great and we definately will be doing it again next year. I would definately recommend it to any UK members here who have any liking of pinball machines.

It was just a shame that I didn't get chance to meet up with any other pachitalkers at the show, but maybe next year.

Also at the show was Steve & Eddie (777Heaven or Skytvspecials) and although I have met Eddie many times before, I had only spoke to Steve on the phone before - never having met him. It was great to meet him & his family and I chatted with him for some length. They brought over 20 different machines to the show, some of which were awesome and I would suggest if any UK members are thinking of getting a machine in the near future to do so quickly. As Ang (Hanabi) posted about a while back Steve confirmed he is looking to get out of our hobby simply because he is not making money and it is getting harder and harder to import the games into the UK.

One of the great things about seeing Steve with all his machines at the show was that we got to play most of them. That included Ang's 'Battle Ceaser' but I have to be honest here (sorry Ang) but it didn't do it for either Sam or I. It was an great looking game & the screen and graphics are great but as we all say on here 'theme' is king and neither us liked the theme, but others on here clearly do and we could both understand why.

And yes we did spend some money at the show and hopefully I will be able post about what we bought in the next couple of days if things work out

Anyway sorry no pictures as yet, but I promise I will post some (I took loads).
