Giant Pulsar set to "Max" bet

I am new to this stuff and got lucky and happened to stumble across this site. It looks like there is a bunch of great information here.

I just bought a Giant Pulsar machine, but it is set to only allow "Max" bets and wanted to know if I could modify it to allow me to bet only one or two tokens instead of 3 all the time? Thanks!

Thanks for the response. The person I bought the machine from mentioned something about the max bet and said something along the lines of after a certain date, the machines were required to be shipped here with only the max bet setting. Was hoping there would have been an easy mod to change it back. Oh well.
Next step... build a stand for the machine. Found some great ideas here.

He did have 2 machines that would allow you to just use one or 2 coins, but all others would only do max bet. I'll have to visit him again and ask him exactly that he was talking about. I'll post his response here.

Was hoping it would be an easy mod so I could let the people playing decide on their own what they wanted to put in.
I give my kids a handful of tokens and it would be great if they could let them decide on how many coins to use on each spin. If they only did one at a time, I wouldn't have to open the machine as often to get them more.

What the guys are saying is true; all new machines are set this way from the factory before they enter the parlors. The way you get the machine is the way it left the parlor; it has nothing to do with machines that are exported from Japan.

I have four older machines that are 1,2,3, bet, and two new machines that are max bet only. It's just the way they are...

There has been talk about hacking the machines to accept 1,2,3, tokens, but nobody has been able to accomplish anything to the best of my knowledge.

Just an FYI, there do seem to be some new ones that have come out in the last few months that look to be 123 bet machines...all simpler machines!!

I do believe my first Pachislo, Don Chan 2 is a 1, 2 or 3 bet machine,
I was going to add that I believed it was only the older machines that did this...

However it looks like MrGneiss has evidence of Newer machines

I believe what is happening is that as the import business matures there are less and less of the very basic machines being imported to the US except by companies that produce "Customs" and need a more basic play for ease of modification. The max bet only machines are usually those with more In Depth gameplay. AND are more marketable and desirable to newbies and those looking to expand their collection or just upgrade.Just my observation. anyone know more?
