I just went out and checked the tires on my car and my wifes car.
I just had 4 tires put on my car about 3 months ago, they were made in Feb 2008.
My wife's car has the same tires on it from when we bought it, they were made in June 2006.
So we are good for now

The two new tires I just put on the Expedition where Feb 08 (0808). The other two are from 2006. My truck tire were 2003 x 2 (been on my truck for several years.) and 2006 x 2. All my tires are bought from Sam's Club. They are the "number one" seller of tires here. So all the above dates pretty much represent the year they were put on...

Caution... You are look for the number near the center, not the outer edge of the tire. I was a little worried at first because I saw (440). The first thing that went through my mind was there is no way that this tire is from 1990. But after checking the outside of the tire, the same number was present with the word traction.

My wife's minivan just got new tires a month ago, and they were all marked 0608, so that is pretty good. My car that I got in April has 3607 on the fronts, but I couldn't read the rear ones (they are labeled on the inside of the tire and without jacking the car up, I can't read them). I will definitely check those out tomorrow during the day. Thanks for the story.
