I thought the Stealth model had a thermal cutoff too...not sure.
The one I recommended, has an internal "resettable" thermal cutoff. NOTE !!! the one pictured is not the one you get, but fear not ... you will get a great xformer (they just never changed the pic)

Well it arrived... so that knowledge is about to be tested. ^^

I'm going to steal a transformer off another machine and put it on this one so I can test it tonight.

However, while my camera batteries are recharging and I go to Ace Hardware get some solder, an iron, and some electrical tape (which it turns out didn't make it with me when I moved), I need to clarify one thing:

There seems to be no identification on the transformer as to which is positive or negative. May I assume, than, that pachis use alternating current and it doesn't matter which is connected to which so long as it's correctly connected to the output?

Heh... That part is clearly labeled on the transformer. I doubt I'll have an issue there. ^^

    (Famous last words, of course.)

P.S. In an off position... the machine is beautiful! If only my camera was charged...

Just use wire nuts, no need to solder

Always make the solution to problems as simple as possible... but no simpler ^_^

None of my machines are "permanently" wired. I move stuff around a lot (supplies, counters, &c. &c.)

Yes, yes... but is it AC or DC?

That's the important part. And I mean that's the really important part.

Wiring backwards is an understandable mistake, while wiring for AC when it's DC is a whole level above on the foolish things humans do scale of idiocy.

So, do pachinkos run alternating current (in which case the wire order doesn't matter) or DC (in which case I have to figure out which one is positive and which is negative)?

There is a very noticable "effect" when you plug the transformer in backwards.
I still get goosebumps when I think of it (hides)

As long as 110v and 24v sides are right... the wiring doesn't matter ^_^

All modern Pachinko is 24VAC. The VA requirement of the machine should be listed on it's back.

    250VA =10.4amps, 125VA = 5.2amps, etc...

Off to Ace... with any luck, I'll have some pictures tonight.

With more luck, I'll have it installed in my red cabinet later this weekend. ^^

Nope... Came home to find one of the rechargeable AAs was dead. Since I don't know which one and I didn't have the other set charged, I had no power.

They're charged now and I'm back from Ace. I'll post a few pictures soon enough in a new thread.

Going to try and get it to work first. (And also going to cross my fingers that the L-pads won't need to be installed before I turn it on. Otherwise, it'll be even longer before I get it up and running. ^^)

    *laughing*

Turns out I didn't need the L-pads after all.

The volume control adjusts from silent to loud.

I suppose I'll just replace the pots on my other machines...

    New thread coming up.

    (P.S. Transformer obviously works... ^^)

And we won't mention names...but the Million Gods were looking down on that person. The machine survived after some minor repairs I believe.
