well its definately your machine and you can do what you want with it..

but whats the point in playing something thats just ridiculously easy..
you may as well just do away with the front door and rig a funnel to the pay out slot and just pump the balls in that way..

Actually, what I've seen from Japan is to put an led in place of the 'switch'. Not sure if it's a flashing led or not but it will act as a switch.

I'm sure you can make your own, but here's an auction for one in Japan

Yep yep a regular 5V LED works perfect. Solder it to a plug, and you're off and spinning. Of course once owed payout "MAX" is reached, you will need to reset the machine

After getting bored with easy pay out, I decided to do just that, I was able to adjust it so it's not so difficult to win balls, but not as much payout if I taped the claws wide open... I was afraid I would break the nails but it didn't, now its perfect...at first balls were getting stuck between the nails, but after some adjustment, everything works great...
