    Default CF Export Questions

A couple of quick questions when purchasing from CF Exports:

Are the new pachinko balls unengraved?

What is the purpose of the 24V Transformer upgrade?

What's the difference between an A, B, and C cabinet?

Thank you for reading (and hopefully answering)...

any pachinko balls I got from them were engraved, I doubt if any they sell are really new,

a 24volt upgrade just means you will get a transformer with a higher amp rating.

I don't know anything about the cabinets.

Sometimes the balls I get from Hiro are engraved and sometimes I get brand new ones that aren't.
Hiro has 5 amp and 7 amp tranformers. Be sure to ask first.
I have one of his cabinets also, but I don't know if it's A,B, or C.
    It is very nice!

I have received balls from Hiro about 12,000, and all a engraved. 10,000 were in sealed cases of 5,000 with all of the strapping around the box. I think they are new, but old stock engraved. He may get them from closed parlors or something like that.

The cabinets are by grade. His "A" cabinet is the best, and looks real nice. It's made of a wood like composite material, and has a clean look to it. the "C" cabinet is white, and is made of a particle board with a laminate over it. Not real nice, but functional. I have not seen the "B" cabinet.

The bottom of Hiro's list shows several items with prices next to them. This is not a list of optional items, but rater a list of what is included with each machine, and it's value if purchased separately.

Thank you all for the answers... One more for good measure:

Does Hiro have and/or install volume controls on request?

I just spoke with Hiro...and here is his updated list of inventory if anyone is interested. I am probably going to order from him. Too bad I don't live in CA.

Many of his machines already have volume controls, but you should ask for them if you want them - yes, he does install those 1K pots.

Yes, Hiro installs volume controls on every machine. They are not L-Pads so I change them out, but hes does install the common 1k pots.

An L-Pad is a real Volume control that is designed to keep a consistent 8ohm load on the amp. The 1k pots are not designed to be used on the output side of the amp. The pots will adjust the volume as well, but will not keep the consistent load on the amp. This over time can cause the amp to overheat, and eventually damage it.

The reason so many dealers use pots instead of L-Pads is because of cost. A 1k pot costs under $1.00 when purchased in bulk. L-Pads are about $12.00. Also, the pots are easier and faster to install.

This pictures below show the standard 1k pot (red wires), and the stereo L-Pad (blue wires).

    Much appreciated all.

I just put in my order for Kamen Rider... Hopefully I can get it by next weekend and start playing on my first machine.

Of course, now I may need to get my hands on an L-pad or two.

Don't know if that will be the frame or not. Didn't get a picture from Hiro. I just know it's one of the pachis on my list and I enjoyed it a lot when I lived in Japan.

It was probably the one on which I won most often. It was also the one on which I failed to get a ball in the V hole on the first round of a 15 round bonus. That was sad.

It will be black. (Which is my preference over the yellow.)

Hiro communicated that to me yesterday. I am hoping to get it (assuming the check arrives to him on Monday) by next Friday.

Speaking of which... anyone have any L-pads or a ball lifter for sale? ^^

Here is where you can get an L-Pad (Stereo 15W 8Ohm).

    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=260-251

This will cover a 2 speaker frame. If you have 3 or 4 speakers in your frame, you will need 2.

These are great and really improve the sound over the cheap pots.

Not trying to threadjack, but I have a question about that price list. Do the prices include shipping? I see no mention of that at all and am wondering.

    Thanks!

No. Shipping is extra (depending on where you live, I think).

I'm expecting my purchase to arrive on Friday... Cost about an extra $50-60 for shipping on top of the listed price.
