Problem? or what is this??

hi i recently bought a Super Sea Story.. the machine isn't broken or something, i'am curious what this is..

is it an error?

there are a few buttons on the back of the machine, i discovered one button allready if the balls are stuck in the machine (i had it once) so that is solved.

but there are 2 other things, 1 volumepot (whatever that is, i don't touch it..) and 1 other button (reset?)

can someone help me out??

if its a small red buttom it should be for reset, hold it in for about 15 seconds as you turn on the Pachinko.

that may clean your screen message

or you could try turning your machine on and off.

okay, i tried it, it only turns on a alarm sound.. not that irritating.. but it is gone when i turn the machine off and then on

The screen just says 'Super Sea Story 05' in Japanese (スーパー海物語 - 'Supa Umi Monogatari'), so it's unlikely to be an error message

Not 100% certain about this actual machine (as I don't own one!) but a lot of recent machines have two reset buttons, one near the power switch or on the main control board which is the 'Clear Working Memory' reset switch which clears the memory used to store wins that are owed to the player (amongst other things). The second reset switch is on the payout control board (near where the dongle / card reader plugs in) which can be used to clear payout errors without the machine losing track of how many prize balls it owes the player.

i tried that trick also on my new sea story, and got an alarm too, some sort of fire alarm, i also smelled something burning but the machine still worx.. strange isn't it? but unfortunatly no reset button..

no, it was the variable resistor, sound was too loud
so nothing to worry about

I'm guessing that the control is near the back of the shooter handle, or the hammer mechanism that shoots the balls onto the playfield. The Japanese text around the control says 'Weak <- Medium -> Strong' so I'd expect it to be the control that adjusts the strength of the ball shooter hammer.

Depends where it's located, could be that, or volume control or touch ring sensitivity.

nope it's NOT the volume control and i what do you mean with the "touch ring" thingy?? do you mean the button to STOP the ball shooter?

No, there is a chrome or metal part/ring (sometimes the entire shooter handle is chrome) that you must touch to make the machine shoot. It might adjust the sensitivity of that touch.
