$50.00 to $100.00 would be a fair price for that machine.

    I wouldn't go any higher

Ok so I feel a liitle better and somewhat informd.I wonder though how many people not doing there research on PachiTalk or on the web in general would give him the 200.And I also wonder how disapointed they would be when they got it home and did the research after the purchase. So you guys know what machine Im talking about? It was quite the ugly duckling compared to even the one in the worst looking pachi thread.Ohh and Bird thank s for the gear that was really kind of you.If it does work Ill try to get some duplicates made up and send it back.Do you have an official parlour lifter? And LuckyDog you are seriously nuts about Pachi's seriously WOW!!!My gf would kill me if I started let the pachis have multiple rooms I guess when some people say let the addiction begin they are for real.Does anyone know if theyll be another Secret Treasure coming back up to Auction I was stupid and waited it out to bid on it and I think it ended without a bid.Ok so this weekend I am going to the OTB to bet the horses and then Sunday Im gonna try to finish my other project I have to get done b4 next weekend then all my attention will be given to the ball lifter.Maybe I should sketch up a new diagram of my idea but its basically the same thought as the parlour lifter with the box leading to the gear and pushing up 90 deg. to 4 feet.I will be also using some .175-.250 stainless bar to make a small track up top with a plexiglass framed window for visual affect.OK so thats not visual enuff will make a sketch this morning and post.TTYL,
    Matt

Ahh still waiting patiently on the gear BirdBrain is so kindly is sending me.I wish I could give people updates on the project but I feel this will be a hit and miss waiting game, also alot of trial and error.Does anyone else need a gear Im gonna have my buddy make mine adapted to my specific motor and gear but if someone wants me to make a couple extra let me know.If I get the gear I'll send it in to my friend and then hopefully get to work on it this weekend during my mini vacation.TTYL,
    Matt

Ok BB, I have time this week. all of the move outs are completed and it will take no time to clear work space. Let me know when you want to come by and I will bring in the drill press for more precision operations in constructing gears. I also have a grainger account if we need it. AND the home depot is 2 miles from here. BTW did you find the hinge pieces from that Vintage?

Thumbs up Re: Ball lifter ideas

Various ball lifters and elevators that I have come across in YouTube...

Interesting, hand operated, but that can be changed. Comes with a nerve-grating Cyndi Lauper soundtrack, though.

YouTube - Spiral Wooden Marble Run Lift

This one is fascinating to me (simple minds - simply amused), but it's the exact opposite of a ball-lifter.

    YouTube - Marble Elevator

This one has a big-wheel design like some others...

    YouTube - Marble Elevator

Looks like this one is commercially produced, but good for ideas...

YouTube - Chain Belt Elevator for SPACEWARP

A couple of worm-drive models. Both are switched to turn on when the ball arrives at the bottom. It looks like in the first one, the ball is the switch, and the worm and the rods are the electrodes, so one ball is all that it takes to complete a lift cycle. The second one also has the ball performing as the 'switch' but the electrodes are the sides of the track at the bottom. It requires a number of balls to perform, as once the first ball is lifted off the track, the connection is broken.

well an Archimedes Screw would work perfectly me thinks its just a matter of finding the proper screw for a pachinko ball and powering the screw so it spins fast enough to take the balls to the hopper quick enough to make it all usefull.

Not bad for 2000+ year old technology..

Short term, it's not a bad idea, but over time, wear is an issue, plus just finding/making a screw that long. Speed isn't as much of an issue since it seems most modern machines remember payouts till the hopper is refilled.

Then again, if that was the best way to do it, the Japanese would be doing it. They've pretty much perfected the system.
