They make auger bits that long. You should be able to fine one with the right spacing to allow for the balls. Place the bit on a variable speed motor with a piece of PVC pipe over it. And as for the switch, pachinko balls are conductive so the system can be designed to turn on and off when the balls reach a certain level... Or, you could just by a ball lift. It would probable be the same price.

long auger bits were brought up before, no one has tried this that I know of.

maybe if the bit was coated with something to hold down the metal to metal contact it might help.

A long auger bit is the way I'm going for right now. my prototype works with a cordless drill turning the bit the copper tube is the in port and they travel up the center which I would connect to a flexible hose, I'll look to see what size bit it is, I think it's 5/8" but the type has a lot of space between the spiral and a ball fits perfectly, I'm having trouble going from the square aluminum tube to anything round, the balls keep getting caught on an edge here or there and backing up in the top tube.

I'll get back to this in a couple of months. I'm in the process of opening an Improv Comedy Theater in Detroit, so that has all of my time occupied for a while.

for some reason I can't seem to turn this picture upright, sorry.
