Who's good with animated gifs or flash? Have it look like the face of a slot or pachinko, when the reels come to a stop they say PAC HIT ALK (although closer together!)

you mean somthing like ths compirate but on a larger scale maybe even uuse the reels and buttons cut out from the middle ???

Yeah, just slowed down a bit and just the center section with the buttons. It would be cool if it could be a flash game with the buttons and start knob working, but that's asking too much!

The problem with animated gifs is they show at different speeds on different browsers.

What about having the logo reflect the members. Have little bits and pieces of members avatars and some references to inside jokes, like cookies for the dark side, sheep, ect. in a collage around PACHITALK. Just a thought

Tweaked my logo design.

Speaking as a designer, good logos are usually graphically simple. Especially if you want to print them on T-Shirts, mugs, etc. (CafePress.com: Shop, create or sell what's on your mind with custom T-Shirts, unique gifts and more.). Black and white is cheapest for printing, so a good logo will work in black and white as well as in color. And a monochrome logo is the next cheapest for printing.

My design is meant to fit into the existing forum default color scheme. If I was going to be more thorough I would do a complete redesign of the forum, with a different color scheme to match a new logo. At the moment though, this is what I've come up with.

The photos show the logo in various uses. CafePress.com has some great tools for mocking up branded products.

I would appreciate feedback and suggestions of what you might like or dislike about this logo, as well as thoughts of what graphical aspects of pachinkos and pachislos appeal to you the most.

its definitely an interesting concept.. as for opinions they may vary from user to user.

If you were to ask me, your partiular logo is simple and indeed fits well within the current color scheme of the site(btw at the moment there is absolutely no thought into changing the site color scheme)
however.. it seems well a little cold.. i cant think of another way of explaining it..

I think we need something warmer..

but then again the final logos will be put to a vote anyway..

Yes, it was a little mechanical. Thanks for that helpful input. I lose perspective after I work on these for a few hours.

Don't mess with the color scheme. There isn't a better color scheme on the net, IMHO.

Quite a while back there was an experiment with a Purple Colour Scheme, and I hate to admit it but...
it was way too harsh on the eyes!!

I don't think the present Colour Scheme needs changing, it's easy on the eyes,
especially when you spend a long time here

and it's part of the Personality of the Site...

As for the logo, the present one is in a kind of 'Japanese Brush Stroke' font, I think, If I remember correctly??

I think the new Logo should somehow retain a 'rounded' look or 'fullness' to the letters and I do like
the 'P' and 'T' as Capitals...

It looks right and I know a few of us affectionately refer to PachiTalk as PT quite often too

Just a few Ang Thoughts...
