    Default At long Last!

Finally after several years I have joined the insanity. Several of my posts have have expressed the frustration of getting a Pachi in Australia. Just received my baby in the mail from the USA to Australia in just 7 days. Its a Kyoraku but I will call her Heather McCartney as she arrived with only one leg and I'm sure will cost me a bucket load of money down the track... Purchased on Ebay for $50 US and $150 US postage I know this sounds like a lot but the 2 machines I've seen locally over the last few years have started at $300 plus shipping. She has arrived with broken Perspex but otherwise healthy. Have got some balls on the way and a manual from the pachinkoman for stripping and restoring. Will be doing some chroming and repolishing and then some backyard cabinet work. I will try and put up progress pics as I go. Let the fun begin...

The machine looks complete but untill you open the front ball feeder that subject might be premature.

Congrats - it is a good looking vintage. In fact, I think it's another one that I didn't win on Ebay - you out bid me. Good luck with the restoration - looking forward to seeing more pics!

Oh yes, was I right Paul McCartney got off cheap compared to this one legged beauty. Progress so far... pulled the bottom ball feed off stripped it replaced the spring on the door hinges and trap door. Polished the daylights out of it all, repainted the highlights and name plate etc back to original from colour match on a few tiny bits left. Stripped and did the same with lower ball return and sent the ashtray out for a $50 full strip and repolish (it had been renovated with silver spray paint) Removed and polished the ball lever and finger post, removed the post from the casting as needs re-chroming. Disassembled frame and front door metal and sent parts +ashtray flap and finger post for re-chrome, all too pitted for polish resurection ($187 OMG) Had to drill a couple of frame screws as heads stripped on attempted removal. purchased stainless screws perfect size to polish and replace when chroming is completed in the next week or so. Got 2 pieces of glass to replace perspex damaged in transit ($15). 1000 balls arived from US $89. I am starting to think a real mistress would be cheaper... But loving every minute of it.

Always wondered how much that would run. I have a few that I may just need to do that to.

Amen to that. But then again my wife wont divorce me if she catches me playing with a pachinko.
