    Default E-bay purchase #2 - Mizuho 13

The 2nd machine I purchased off ebay is a beat up old Mizuho 13. The front of the machine is in pretty good shape, but the back was beat up pretty badly. The ball hopper was completely broken, and the machine would only pay one jackpot at a time (it needed resetting after each jackpot). I put together a quick fix (temporary) for the ball hopper, but the jackpot issue was harder to fix.

I realized that the 'big jackpot lever/trap door' - whatever you call it - the white lever that runs horizontally in the pic - wasn't resetting. I don't know if I'm missing a spring, or a counter weight - but I crafted a fix (again, temporary) that worked. I taped 3 pennies to a piece of cardboard, and then used that as a counter weight. It's not pretty or permanent - but it worked. If anyone knows anything about these Muzuho's - tell me if you see anything missing.

I've been play testing for hours on a couple occasions - seems to work great. Next step will be to craft a more permanent solution, clean it up and then re-wire the lights.

wow. that was the same problem that I had, exactly.

did you ever find another way to get the arm to pivot, or did you just leave the weights?

It's a good idea the machine is level horizontally before moving on, sometimes this fixes the whole problem

thanks for the suggestion on leveling, HG man, but my machine has a problem at the pivot point. i'm guessing the brass got corroded and is a little too large in diameter. didn't have emory cloth handy to smooth it down a bit... next time I have the machine open, i'll try thinning the axle down some.

On serveral of my machines I have had the same issues with the JackPot Rocker (JPR) not resetting as needed. I pulled the JPR, cleaned the pin and the bushing with WD-40, did some light sanding with emory cloth and then re-assembled with a touch of 3-in-1 oil. That always fixed it for me.

It's a pretty quick and easy fix.

    Good luck!
