Another Imatrix Report Card

After reading the positive and negative reviews on Imatrix here, and since David @ Imatrix was the only one who responded to my email enquiries, I decided to go ahead an order a Lord of the Rings from them three weeks ago. I thought to order from slot-pachinko since they are also in Texas, but I guess they couldn’t be bothered.

Initially Imatrix shipped via Purolator, but it didn’t make it through customs, and was returned to Imatrix. David immediately informed me of the problem, and re-shipped it via UPS the same day. Communication was excellent throughout the transaction.

It arrived yesterday. The package was a little beat up, (not the first, nor the last time from UPS, I’m sure) but it was very well packed, and survived fine. The only thing affected was that the transformer had slipped from its screws, but no harm was done, and I blame UPS rough handling. Besides, I can relate to having a loose screw or two!

The machine itself is in excellent condition, no discernible dents, dings or scratches. And while probably not Arbycoffee clean, it isn’t filthy either.

So all in all I would describe myself as a satisfied customer.

I like the idea that they packed the glass in it's own box but man oh man, that shooter knob right up against the inside of the box with no padding? I surely hope that is not how it was packed

Congrats on the machine. I Have one and I LOVE IT! I think it has the best colors when it's lit up. The game play can get a little repetative, but it's nice the theme changes during play along with the music. For some reason, out of the four machine I own, The LOTR is the softest sounding machine that I have. No loud "ball against glass" clicking. I can't figure out why...but nice.

That's exactly how it was. I just opened the box and snapped the picture. In my excitement over my new machine I didn't even notice. I guess I was lucky!

I received my 3 machines from them in the same way. the knob is not really near the box, you must be really unlucky to have the knob broken, the box is hard enough, and don't bend easily near this part. I would be more aware of the glass than the knob, really.

I would like to chime in on a machine from monkey-paradise (aka imatrix).
I recieved the package in two days which has to be a record. the package was pretty much identical as your first picture. but when I opened it a much different story.
Both panes of glass were broken.
The transformer had lost a screw
The ball knob has a crack down the front of it
And the machine won't payout balls when you hit a pocket.

I have just sent them an email, I'll post what they do about it.

woah!!! that is really horrible did UPS throw it on your door while driving??? That's look like a dropped box. Maybe they tried to play slinky with your box in stairs...

So far David has told me he will pay for me to get replacement glass, instead of shipping me new ones and risking more breakage, which I agree with.

He has asked for pictures of the damage to the knob and pictures of the back to help with the payout problem, which have been sent twice to him.

Hopefully he will get back to me soon.

I also ordered my 1st one from them.Shipping box was great condition but the front glass was cracked.David quickly responded and a new one is on it's way. I may reorder from them but i don't like the extra 30.00 UPS int'l charged me.

I don't think it matters how well something is packaged. UPS will open the box, break your machine, and then repackage it if necessary.

UPS has destroyed way too many of my shipments, and I think we all just need to quit using them until they can prove that they actually care about our stuff.

They dropped my Star Trek machine at least 3 times that I can count. Not a light drop, but a hard fall. Like they rolled it off the truck... This was only from LA to the Central Valley in CA. I'm glad it wasn't shipped from New York. I can imagine what it would have looked like. Not to mention they are still giving me the runaround about covering the damages.

My best advice would be to use FedEX. They appear to take better care of your stuff.

I've been very lucky, most of mine came fedex

and I've only had a few minor problems during delivery

FedEX drivers are held accountable for damages since many of them are private contractors.

The brown truck box bashers are not held accountable for damages so they don't care. One of the receiving guys from work said he saw a UPS driver roll a brand new $6,000 printer off the back of the truck because she couldn't lift it. He said this kind of stuff is common with UPS.

I'm not sure if beer would really help with deliveries!!

I've also received about 1500 large packages through UPS over the last 14 years and I can't remember any problems caused by UPS...We have had the same driver for all those years, but he didn't deliver all the pachis, so maybe just a good area for deliveries...although we did have lots of problems with RPS/FedEx in the mid 90s!?
