    Default Nishijian Owl

I just picked up this machine locally and very cheap.

It has a cool little owl as the theme but the real reason I decided to get it is the 2 Pockets on the each side of the cell.

They are labeled (Side Tross) They are jammed at the moment with balls so I dont know how they work.

As you can see the cell is very dirty as is the rest of the machine.

There is nothing broken on the machine its just dirty and has balls stuck in the pockets.

I wont get to this machine or the others that I have yet to restore as I am obsessing on getting the Junkyu to work.

If anyone has a machine with these type of pockets let me know how they work. I 'm eager to find out and it will be awhile before I get to this machine.

Wow What a memory! Nice find.Great info..

I thought I would take pics of the pockets since I had a few minutes.

The Pocket on the left is in the closed position and the one on the right is in the open position.

I took a quick look at the back of the machine and it appears that there are channels which lead from the pockets that hold balls until the pockets are triggered.

I guess they payout the max numbers of balls stored in those channels.

Also the center pocket has a pivoting lever shaped in a way to divert each successive ball to opposite directions Right ,Left,Right Etc

When I get a chance I will take a photo of it . This is a working design of what BirdBrain was describing in his thread.

So this seems to be a rare feature what is the chance of getting this machine ? Guess I got lucky.

The info on these Side trosses is once again a good example of how much info Pachitalk has in its archives.

We must be sure to do whatever we can to keep Pachitalk and this valuable info around. All of this info is just to important to ever be lost.

    I finished restoring the Owl.
It was missing a few clips and had a broken shooter ball release arm which I didnt know about in the first post as I has not tried to shoot any balls, but I managed to fix it.

The previous owner must have used oil many times on the machine as the type of dirt inside of it was new to me.

There was tons of large gummed up dust balls through out really nasty stuff.

The tracks and trays were all hairy as well LOL.

You can compare the first post pics with these new pics to see the difference.

Turns out that the side Tross Gimmick is really nothing more than a larger Tulip Pocket that simply closes off after a ball enters. The payout is the same as for the other Tulips or pockets. I like different features even if they dont payout more!

I posted pics of the Front ,Back, Cell and The arm that opens the Tross mech.

I think the little OWL is the machines best feature.
