    Default Tayio Maturi Penguin

I have a Penguin machine, however, it was delivered without a door lock.

The vendor said he didn't have any locks for it.

Is the lock a special type? Or, has anyone used a third party type lock please?

I need a lock as I am building a cabinet to put the machine on the wall. When on the wall the only way I get it open is, via the front, hence the need for a lock.

You could try PMing some of the venders on here or you can leave an access hole in the side of the cabinet to get to the latches. There is a cabinet design on here somewhere with said holes.

I think Bilko44 had his pachis set up at one time to open from the front without locks and in a cabinet...(this was before keys were readily available and before Arby's lock mod) There were pics around somewhere, maybe someone knows where..

I emailed the company as suggested (above somewhere).

Here is the reply I got, however, I can't understand any of it. I only asked for a lock and key for the Tayio Maturi Penguin.

Can anyone work out for me, what this bloke wants please.

    Thank you for my connecting

I am sorry to have been able to send the reply.

Although the key of pachinko is common, the attachment for a terminal area with a main part is different for a while.

some reserves have, a mailing cost does not understand them. Please let [ a model name, how many manufacture company names, and ] me know whether to be required.

    Thank you
    Hiro

Hiro doesn't speak very good English. When I visited their warehouse in Ontario, nobody spoke English. I had to pay for my machine with PayPal on their Japanese computer (Japanese Windows and keyboard).

Keeping up with the fish theme, this one smells like a babelfish translation. Perhaps one of our Japanese speaking members can help translate an email?

Sounds like he's trying to say...

Thanks for getting in contact, I'm sorry for the delay in replying.

Although most pachinkos use the same key and type of lock, there are differences in the ways they are attached to the pachinko machine. (I expect that he is referring to the actuator cam on the back of the lock which is usually different on each style of frame).

I have some spares (ie lock mechanisms), but I don't know how much it's going to cost to send them. Please let me know the manufacturer and model of the machine and the quantity required.

    Thank you
    Hiro
The confusion about the machine might be due to the spelling and name used. The Japanese name of the machine is not actually 'Penguin' it is 'Arepachin' and the manufacturers name is Taiyo Elec. Tayio would be pronounced very differently and might not be recognised as a simple spelling mistake by someone not familiar with English or Romanji spellings of Japanese words.

If you ask again for a lock mechanism for a (copy and paste this bit into your email!) Penguin / Arepachin (CRアレパッチン) manufactured by Taiyo Elec (タイヨーエレック) in a Maturi frame.

You might want to include a link to this page in your email, so it's clear to him which machine you are talking about...

    http://www.taiyoelec.co.jp/user/pach...earbook02.html

    Hope this helps.
