    Default Brrrrrr...

Mighty chilly around these parts today...
We're expecting a HIGH of 5 degrees... wind chills of 20 to 30 below!!!
Even schools are delayed because of it. Kid-sicles aren't a good thing.

I hate weather that hurts. :-(

    School?

It's a way too many moons for me and school and without having children of my own, never something I really give much of a thought to. I seem to remember though being our this time of year for a Christmas break. Do they not do that any longer?

Kid aren't as tough as we were in our days, walked 3 miles to school in snow up to our behinds and it was all up hill. the wind cut right to my tighty whiteies.

Our lunches frozen on this great walk, and we put them in our arm pits to thauw out for lunch.

going home was the same 3 miles walk and up going home TOO!

South Florida here, checking in...we woke up to a chilly 45 this morning. The same humidity that makes 89 feel like 109 also makes 45 feel like 30. I grew up in Central PA so I enjoy the chill. Wore a sweater AND a jacket this morning!

    Stay warm, everybody!

Now there's something I've never seen. A White Christmas. And to think, if it wasn't for a 1942 movie called Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire and Irving Berlins Oscar winning Score, no one would care about a White Christmas.

Well one time, when I was a kid growing up in FLA, on Christmas day we went outside and something was falling in the air but it wasn't even reaching the ground, we surmised as kids will do, this must be snow.

Now living in Oklahoma we get snow but not that much as ambient temperatures generally run higher in December and while I've seen a wet Christmas a time or two, not a white one.

Somehow dreaming of a "wet" Christmas seems wholly inappropriate.

And they called it "The Great Snow Fall of 77"

Here it takes one good snow fall to get it bad in the minds of drivers, that snow is slick, It is like bumper pool on my corner the first fall.

Here in NW Iowa, we got an unexpected 3" of snow today! They had forecast some sleet is all. Anyhow, now we're set now for a white Christmas as it is going to be cold the rest of the week and this will stay.

    My daughter is THRILLED!

Did you get any of this snow, Arby??
