    Default TokensDirectStore.com?

Not sure how pricing compares to Hoffman mint, but I found another token source at http://www.tokensdirectstore.com/.

Tokens come in bags of 1,000. Order as many bags as you need. The more you order, the more you save!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    1 to 2 bags: $ 95 per bag

    3 to 4 bags: $ 85 per bag

    5 to 9 bags: $ 76 per bag

    10 to 24 bags: $ 64 per bag

    25 more: $ 59 per bag

Seems a bit high to me. I'm assuming that didn't include shipping.

Still at $95 for 1000.. Almost as high as Stealths tokens who came in at a whopping $105 for 1000.

I guess that DGI selling theirs was the cheapest at $65 shipped.

PachisloShop (Ted Kimura) is selling a 1000 $69 shipped

Toonces is selling 1000 at $70 shipped.

Last I had checked with Hoffman Mint, Stealth was using their tokens(custom).
I went to a casino party a local resort last night and had a long discussion with the owner of the company that rented out the craps tables, blackjack, poker ,roulette and the 30 slot machines that were there and he said they only will use the best quality .984 tokens in their slot machines and they all come from Hoffman Mint. I asked why not use the .984 tokens from Japan and he said the cheap japanese ones caused too many jams and he used to find particles slivering off of them. Now they only use the real US Slots for their casino parties that they run so maybe the hoppers on actual slots etc are rougher on tokens than Pachislos?.

All of my Pachislos are currently using Japanese parlor tokens.

That brings up an interesting question. Are Hoffman Mint's tokens really better and are they really better for us?

I'm not sure if I have any from Hoffman Mint and I know I don't know how to tell the difference. But our machines are no longer casino machines and they don't see nearly the action they they would as casino machines. So even if we go with the premise that Hoffman Mint tokens are over-all better quality, as casual slot machines is there an advantage other than pure individual preference?

I do have new tokens from DGI in the Magic Pulsar and I find they play pretty much the same as all the others I have. The only hopper jam I've ever had was on my Terminator and it was the hopper that was the issue. I haven't noticed metal shavings anywere on any of them?

Tulsa I haven't noticed metal shavings etc in my Pachislos only either. I really don't see a problem using the Japanese tokens. Besides it keeps the original flavor of play that way !

The way you can tell if a token comes from Hoffman Mint is it will have a very small HM stamped on it.

some machines seem a little fussier than others.

i think thats why milt give new brass tokens so customers have less problems.

my gung gung is very fussy, it doesn't like silver tokens, every once i awhile it would go into error mode.

i switched to milts tokens and haven't had a problem since

Id venture to guess that the gung gung needs its con trakc cleaned. It shouldnt be too picky over a certain color, or metal. Its always good to go in and do a thourough cleaning of the coin tracks when you get a new machine. Youll see some of the dirtiest tracks on some of them. Its a wonder how some coins even make it down into the hopper!

We've used the japanese tokens at the gaming store where we have a few machines for sale and have had no problems, I use the stealth gold ones at home cuz I like the way they look (all matched up an stuff). I really don't think it's much of an issue, but more preference.
I used the Japanese ones at first on my Gung Gung for about 4 months with no problems, but then again it will also take quarters, I guess mine just wants to eat coins and it don't matter.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

    Thomas,

I ordered 2000 tokens from that vendor. The coins are japanese and have various designs on them. Very clean. I would use them again if I needed more tokens.

    Smile Re: TokensDirectStore.com?

Has anyone looked into ordering tokens from the Hoffman mint with, say Pachitalk.com on the tokens. Or maybe the next time Milt orders from them he could add pachitalk.com on one side of the tokens. I'd be up to ordering some!

Just a Idea I like to throw out for discussion!!

    Cheers,
    James

I have talked to Tulsa about that and he prefers that no one does that, in a sense it would be illegal to do just that. If you look at the bottom of each page here at pachitalk, the name is copywritten. So that would be a no no.... Tulsa and I had a discussion about doing that and I understand where he is comming from. Him and David set this up as a free forum and they would like it to stay that way and they also don't want people making money off of the name. All though what I have just written sounds stingy and mean, The way tulsa expained it to me, it all makes sense.
