Default Is $50 a good price for a Pachislo?

When I get into a hobby, I usually look for opportunities to help pay for the hobby. As a new Pachislo owner (bought a Digislo Neo), I'd like to refurbish some machines and earn a little extra to buy stuff for the ones I want to keep.

Here's my situation. I have an opportunity on a private sale to get about 4 or 5 more Pachislo machines (various types) at $50 each. They power up, have no keys, and maybe about 100 tokens each. I'm mulling over the idea of buying them to fix/refurbish and sell them locally. I figure I'll need to invest in some tokens and keys. I'd probably wire a toggle for the reset switch on the P/S like I just did with my Neo.

I'm not looking to make a killing here. I just want to fund the hobby. I'll probably pick the best one or two of the bunch and keep them for myself, then sell the rest to cover my expenses (and maybe an extra stash of tokens since my game room arcade games use them, too)

Is $50 per machine too much to invest for all the money I might have to put into it to get a fair selling price? Similar models sold at a local store for about $99 to $140 each, but I can't offer a return policy, like they do, for the ones I sell.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

It depends on what is wrong with them.
If they are just missing keys, that is not a big problem.
$50 for a functioning slot is a good deal, in my opinion.

It depends on the title and condition. These machines sell on the Internet for $89 and up. I would find out what machines you are dealing with and check eBay, as well as some of the various dealers. Things you will need to think about include painting the outer cabinet, replacing the keys/locks, tokens, your time to do the work, and of course the wonderful task of support after the sale.

You can save money on locks and keys by removing the tumblers so the machines will open with a dummy key.

You should add about $30.00 - $40.00 to each machine for what it will take to get your parts and tokens. You are doing this as a hobby so time shouldn't be such an issue.

All of the resources you need are here, so look around and don't hesitate to ask questions if you can't find what you are looking for.

$50 a machine is a good price. Again as LD said, it depends if there is anything wrong with them. It also depends on what part of the US you live in, as too the price you can sell them at.
Good luck with them and always ask question & show pictures. Everyone here loves pictures.

50 is a great price .if your going to sell them get them running then set your price at $100.00 (double your money) and don't worry about the extra tokens they can buy there own tokens just make sure they know they will be needing to get more tokens to really enjoy the machine . Remember the first taste is always free and thats the first 100 tokens after that its gonna cost em .
