MY ANSWER A: In Iowa you can't do that, It that becomes a Illegal Gambling device

Just leave then a note in the box telling them if they seen your machine on ebay they should have seen all the ways they can convert it themselves!

Personally, I never would. It crosses the line in an already gray area in many states. None of the big-boys do it. If the chance of breaking a law, or someone trying to set you up, is worth the sale... then go for it. That extra $10 or $20 might buy you a pack of smokes from Bubba, or protection from him for a day or two... when you're in the slammer.

Maybe you could offer them a link to where they could find the information on how to do it... included with the sale, if they ask. But putting that itself right in the auction text might make them "easily converted to accept coins". Auctions for information like that drag down the hobby... IMHO.

Granted... every newbie wants them to look and act just like the ones they play in casinos. (Coins, auto-stop, arms, etc.)
After they get them, most people realize that their charm and skill outweigh those things... and realize that a mindless game that plays like a regular slot is boring, as well as more expensive. They are selling points for first time buyers, but is that worth the chance?

    Just my 2 tokens.

Don't change it for this person or anyone else. You answered their question and they still purchased the item. End of story.

    Gentlemen,

It is a 30MM machine, it can't be set for quarters, at least to my knowalge, and in Iowa, it is not worth prison, to do such a thing. I know that the change might be slim in your thinking, but they busted a bunch of guys this last week play poker in a bar for pennies, and some other place, a beauty shop for taking numbers, they are very hard on illegal gamblin here.

And I am too damn old to do the time to make some ideat happy, if they want to do something themselfs, fine.

BUT not me, I sell them token in and token out
If you have read my auctions that is what they say, that is why mine didn't get pulled. It is A TOY. not a Gamgling device.

Remember if they can usse ebay, they can fine the auctions for conversion infomation themselves. It is there all the time, at liest 4 or 5 of them a week.

I don't know how much clearer I can be. also I sell here in cedar rapids to Firemen, it fun to play at the fire station and have sold to cops too!
To thesse two groups, i have moved twenty one units. and that is a nice chunck of change.

I think that was really the best way of handling that, Arby.

When people ask me (at work or elsewhere), to make a copy of a video, CD, or computer program... or to "lend" them a key code to make a ripped copy work... I reply with:

"Do you know you're asking me to violate federal law?"

I've even had our PREACHER ask that... and when I said that line to him, he said he "didn't know anything about that".
I told him it was basically BIG LAW #7, "Thou shalt not steal".

    He never asked again.

Thats the only way to sell these. In fact it would probably be better to just call them Toys. I can't believe anyone seriously can think otherwise...unless your in Japan

If someone is insistant on getting their machine converted, all you have to do is tell them that the information they are looking for is available on the internet, but (as Arby stated) it is illegal for us as vendors to make the modification. I have had 2 people ask me that very same question and that is what I told them and they still bought the machines and one even came back and thanked me for even that little tidbit. Telling them to look on the net is not a violation and it can sometimes make the sale.

This is my personal opinion, or of the voices in my head, and are not meant to reflect the opinion of this board.

I went to one of the conversion auctions and sent him send this to a friend.
I figured if hes smart enought, he will put 2 and 2 2gether.

That is the most i do.

It may not be all of Iowa, the news doesn't report well around here unless it a farm report or the price of hogs. But in Cedar rapids is tight, I remember before the legealize gambling in iowa, they busted a bingo game a the Cathlic Church.

That made national news that year, grandmas going down town in a paddy wagon, no cuff tho, having to make bail. The city atturny waited to long to procute so all charges were dropped (that speedy trial thing, I sure he did it on purpis).

So I cover my behind with both hands.

it was, unless, your granma was busted, all old stuff hit the fan and things came out about knight of pithias smoker nights, leagon halls slot machines, Poker at the Large Methadis church. You would have thought Saitin has control of all river city.

At liest there were no Vegalantiy hangings.
