    Lightbulb Pachinko Internet TV

    Hi,

I work in Japan for a website called Janbari.TV, we make all kinds of pachinko and slot programs.

I'm currently in the process of planning the sites first 100% english program looking to cater to needs and wants of people in Japan who cannot speak Japanese and also very much so for people living OUTSIDE of Japan who want up to date information on the latest machines being released.

If anyone has any suggestions or any questions send me a message, I'd love to find out exactly what people want to see!

Hope you can help me and out and I can help you guys out as well.

    Cheers
    Tom

thanks for the quick replys, and advice!

Janbari has access directly to slot and pachinko machine makers so I'm considering have almost a news like element where i'll list up and give out the stats on the upcoming machines.

In Japan at the moment, to give you a quick insight, the most popular machines are:
    Pachinko
    - Evangelion 4 (****ou, futatabi)
    - Hana no Keiji
    - Super sea story (basically the whole series, always packed)

Eva is a huge success probably down to the fact that it has so many bonus sequences. Same goes for Hana no Keiji.

Slot, is a bit harder to pinpoint which are the most popular at the moment, alot of halls dont push pachislo as much as pachinko. And there are some new laws looking like they will come in soon
which arent looking too good for pachislo machines.

2027X looks like it is going to huge
    Evangelion (magokoro o, kimi ni)
    Ring ni kakero 1
    Akadon
    Sengokumusou
    I am Juggler
actually there are too many to list here. lol
Eva same reason again. Akadon when you find a machine on setting 6 is insane. So people are always looking for that machine, but it is starting to die off. Same goes for Rinkake.
Sengokumusou isnt too complicated and is pretty popular at the moment, having a bit of a come back.
I am juggler is always a favourite.

I guess this is the kind of info that doesnt necessarily reach overseas? I'll try and include some kind of top 5 ranking in the show as well, how does that sound?

I think any info that you can give would be wanted.

Here are some thing I would like t see.

    How Pachinkos are made
    How Pachislos are made
Any Info at all on Jankyu Machines
What is the most popular Arepachi
Are American slot MFG's using Japanese tech in their new machines?
Translations for al machines past, present and future.
Can IGTs SpinLuck hit the 7777?
Why is it that most Pachinkos and Pachislo machines have at least one word of English?
What are all of the different token sizes used in Japanese Pachislo and Arepachi machines.
Will coins for play be obsolete as they are in the States?
Any behind the scene stuff about parlors and or MFGs
Any story on Japanese that own their own machines and have home game rooms.
Heres the last Idea that I can think of for now.
A story of how an American who lives in a small apt in NYC like the Japanese do.. His apt is full with machines. Machines are on his stove and refrigerator in every room there is nothing but machines and a bed.. a Japanese internet TV station learning of this asks him to be flown to Japan to live out his fantasy of seeing Pachinko Parlors in real life and being escorted to all of the Pachinko and Pachislo resellers in Japan all while being filmed.

    hi again,

    Thanks for all the replys,
Tomorrow i am having a meeting with the big wigs to discuss the details.

    Re: Eddie,
    Awesome advice,
The makings of machines are kind of a tightish kept secret alot of companies are hesitant to discuss such things, but I'll do my best.

I'll be translating most of posts in this topic and presenting them to the big bosses so we'll see what they say about your suggestions and questions as well. I'm sure they'll love your passion for pachinko and pachislo. Not sure they'll fly you over just yet though. But who knows what might hold in the future. I am going to try push for a full english version of the website...

For now its one step at a time! Keep the advice coming.

    Thanks again,
    Tom

I love the really early vintage machines ('40s).
I'd like more info on the roots of pachinko, like:
    what it's influences were,
the evolution of the various designs,
    notable innovative or odd machines,
    important designers and manufacturers,
and photos, photos, photos, photos (pachinkos are a real visual treat—movies too of the oldies, if you have them).

The only detailed historical information I've been able to find is from an out-of-print book, Winning Pachinko—and it is just a chapter. There are scattered articles on the web, but they don't add much more.

It could be a small part of the site, but I think it's really interesting to see how most of the basic gravity mechanisms behind modern pachinkos are essentially unchanged from the first wooden and metal games.

BTW, what happened to the pachinko museum: ƒpƒ`ƒ“ƒRƒ~ƒ…[ƒWƒAƒ€ ? Their website closed down in Feburary.

Also, I think a lot of people with vintage machines would like to know the date of their machine, and sometimes—on the really old pachinkos—the manufacturer's name is only in kanji or kiragana.

A list of companies and their japanese spellings and a way to determine age from labels and stickers on the machines would be very helpful. Possibly some of the big names that date back to the 50's (Nishijin, Sankyo, etc.) would be able to provide a catalog (with photos) of older machines that could be translated.

Any of this type of info would be much appreciated. I look forward to seeing your site!

Depending on what info you can get about this, I'd love to know what the time-line looks like for developing a Pachinko... From coming up with the theme (and maybe some info on what determines if a theme will happen... Like some of the recent games based on old US movies (The Mask, Gremlins, etc)... Some of these just seem to come out of no-where...), to playfield design, software development, trouble-shooting, etc... Do they 'beta test' upcoming machines in special locations? Or are they never seen by the public until they are released?

I know a lot of how pinballs and arcade gaems are developed and tested in the US, so I was just curious if there is a similar architecture in place for Pachinko... (Although I suspect it might follow the development of Slot Machines more than arcade I guess...)

Does a Pachinko machine ever get to playable prototype stage, and then never make it out to market?

Do any of the manufacturers keep one of each of their machines in a museum type setting at all? That'd be REAL cool to see... A complete historical list of all Nishijin machines or something...

Of course, ANY information in English would be great! Looking forward to it all!

Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Lassen World & Maharaja also (working on the graphics...)

    Great news!

I've received the initial OK on the program,
    and even better news.

Receieved the initially OK to work on translating the website to better suit none japanese speakers!

    SO!
Once i have the sign up system ready in english, i'll let you know.
If alot of people sign up when we open up the english sign up section to the site then there could be more than 1 english program!

    btw YOSHImune23,
Eva will definately be a machine to be reviewed in English ^^
Same goes for Lupin provided its popularity can last.

Btw where abouts do you go for pachinko/slotting?

As far as I know there are no pachinko or pachislo parlors in the US. If there are any they are probably on the west coast, in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Seattle.

I own my pachinko machines because they look cool, have fascinating mechanics, and are free to play (in a smoke-free environment!).
