Rubber ball striker/Heiwa Pachinko

Newbie here...be gentle.
I have a couple of Heiwa "Big Hit" pachinko machines, about 12 years old, been in storage for over 5 years. The rubber part on the tip of the mechanism that strikes the balls when you turn the playing knob is brittle/broken. This is a piece of rubber, about an inch long, that fits over the metal rod that moves to strike the ball at the beginning of play. I need a couple of the rubber pieces.
Anyone know of a source for replacement, or a rig-up that would work?

check your local hardware store, you may find something similar to use.

More recent machines use a compression spring that fits over the striker hammer, rather than using rubber that is likely to deteriorate over time.

It might be possible to get a suitable small coil spring from a hardware store that is a little longer than the end of the striker hammer and will fit snugly over it.
