I love Laura croft but that game didn't even make a splash over here. I played the pachislo version once. The design cramped my hand in less then 200 spins it was just too akward to play. I go to about 7 different parlors regularly and I never even saw the CR version. The only parlor to have that game got rid of them in less then 4 months to make room for more Evangelion CRgames. It's pretty and all but how games get popular over here is all about how they PAY!! nobody in there right mind is going to constantly play a game that sucks your pockets dry every time. Big payouts+ excitment+ predictablity= HOT GAME!

Thanks for your comments... it is really interesting to get opinions from those actually playing in the parlors. We have had other members that live in or have lived in Japan tell us that the very machines we find to be exciting, were quickly pulled from parlors due to lack of interest. The most notably and surprising was the pachislo King Camel. The members here that have one tend to really like that machine and we've been told that it was a big dud in the parlors.

Since we play our own personal machines, we don't really feel the impact of losing... such as one who plays for 'real'

The thrill of winning or losing usually occurs during our bidding efforts on eBay or Yahoo Japan. The excitement of discovery and acquisition of a "must have" is very real.

That's what's made the Yoshimune series so popular, a 711 bonus!

Are the current Yoshimune machines paying out this well or did they get neutered at the end of the year?

OHH OHH the HoRRor... When i found out about the new version of yoshimune I was beside myself with excitment. I would spend my lunch break on the website just staring at the screen shots. then the launch day arrived I had to work and the next day I had to work. So finally I have the day off the sun is shining I wake up early get myself some breakfast at the Joyful. I have 6 crisp fresh 10,000 yen bills(600 bucks)in my pocket, I get in line at 7:30 am open time is 8:30. They do the little lottery for your place in line. I get lucky and I'm number 8. So i'm outside with about 80 or so guys a few chicks here and there we are all chain smoking and drinking coffe from a can. I strike up a conversation with the guy behind me. It turns out he's here for Yoshimune as well. I see my friend Karu and tease him for sleeping in and now he's at the back of the line. Finally we are let in one at a time every 15 seconds. BANG! some of those guys are flying down the rows to get the machine they want. I got the 3rd to the last yoshimune game so I'm stoked then I see Karu all dissapointed looking and I tease him a little more(only because he wins more then I do).

OkOK i'll get to the game. good side VERY NICE DISPLAY. Nice sound system. when you win a bonus it's 1/3 the size of the last game but it has a RT(roundtime) feature afterwards if you line up the blue sevens during the bonus round. RT is pretty cool the screen actually slides back into the case and gets this 3D halogram look "very cool" music is this Bumping japan style techno also "very cool". but i'm disapionted with the amount of wins it's much like the new Hanabi games. Final verdict- I'll give this one some more play but i don't think I'll wait in line for it anymore.

KING CAMEL hahahahahahahahahahahahahah your so right that games death rattle was more like a death fart. Nobody played that game. But it did have alot of competition so i think it just was the wrong time for it come out.
