Hopper/Coin Error CE

Hello everyone,

I'm having a bit of a problem with my hopper on my Red Meteor machine, whenever I cash out tokens or have RB/BB and tokens come out it seems my hopper is over counting the tokens and sometimes the tokens get stuck right before it comes out in the hopper and it will always give the CE error. I will either have to always soft reset (turn key left) or sometimes open up the machine and remove that one coin thats stuck coming out. Does anyone have an suggestions as to what I should do or how I can fix my hopper? I haven't contacted DGI as I bought this machine a good 3+ years ago.

Hoping someone could help me out.

there is usualy an optical sensor that counts tokens out so take a look and give it a clean with a cotten bud and a toutch of nail varnish remover should take all the crud off the lens and all should be good

also wiping down the inside of the hopper and cleaning your tokens may help too

give the hopper a good cleaning, everywhere the tokens touch & clean to sensor. that should do it.

Took apart my hopper and cleaned out everything. Cleaned the sensor as well. The machine still does it. I actually don't know what to do now, maybe I need to go clean it out again.
The error is actually error E4. The hopper no longer spits out extra coins anymore but coins still get stuck coming out of the hopper for some reason. Almost looks like the hopper is trying to spit out an extra token but it stops and the token is blocking the sensor.

check your tokens to see if any are bent or have roughed up edges, that may be part of your problem, or if you have some different ones in another machine try those.

thats why demos777 always sent new brass ones, to eliminate problems

What I find odd is CE is a coin mech error. Hopper errors should start with "H". Could the problem be with the coin mech and its causing the hopper to stop suddenly? Just a shot in the dark.
On another note, I just check stealths web site because they always had a good basic troubleshooting guide with codes. That seems to be missing now and there selling instructions on how to do a token to "non token" conversion. Shame shame

The error is actually "E4". Seems like my hopper is getting coins stuck just before they come out. All my tokens are clean and look fine. I will try checking everything again and try the coins from DGI with the 777 and slot on them, as I have a package that is new still.

I can't add to the post above.

According to the pachislo operating manual, "E4 = Hopper Error". Followed what the guide said to do for Olympia machine and put a little WD40 in the middle and it actually seems fine now. Guess it needed a little lube.
