Question A twin but "IT'S" sick

First let me say that this thread is not to vent frustrations or bad mouth anyone. I'm here looking for answers and opinions only.

I found and purchased a second Harley which I now have. It has Pay Out issues and I would like to post a few videos of it.

Could the Harley owners out there and anyone who has played this machine tell me what you think about how it is playing based on the way it is paying out VS the way the reels are positioned when the Pay Outs or lack of Pay Outs are happening compared to your experiences.

Other things that it is doing which I did not get into the videos are : green bonus counter comes on at times during non bonus rounds displaying 1 and 1, The two blue lights on either side of the bonus counter do not light up during bonus rounds, rev's (and the button vibrators activate) ALOT more during play that my other machine, goes into chance rounds ALOT mmore than my other machine.

I have tried all 6 payout settings with the same results. The attract mode works fine with no problems. I have checked to make sure the reels are in the right location and that they have not slipped on the reels. All plugs have been re seated and checked for bent pins.

I would like your opinions based on the machines that you own or have played. The Tech that I am working with has told me that all Harley's have different PC boards in them and play differently. Based on this thay are trying to tell me that there is nothing wrong with this machine.

I doubt that they would use differnent boards since they were made in very limited quantities.

its possible the reels aren't in the right order, or your connections to the main board aren't making proper contact or the board is faulty.

Thanks LD. The reels are in the right location and the strips on the reels have not slipped and are also aligned properly. I have checked for bent pins and Ohm'd out the three main ribbon cables. They are all fine.

I have a Fever Queen pachislo that had similar issues, I cleaned the contacts and reseated them, I had tried everything, even swaping the main board with my Hanafuda.

when I put the original board back in and plugged the connectors in it started working correctly

My Sinbad from CF had the reels out of order and it was doing exactly the same thing.
    Nothing lined up at all.
I took me 5 tries to get them in the correct order to show the correct payouts and replays.
But I do not have a Harley, so I cannot say exactly.

The machine is NOT working correctly.
The tech is wrong about that.

If it paid on different combinations than what my (and your other) Harley did, those combinations would be on the glass showing the payout amount.

Your glass is 'normal'... so either the board is defective OR it's the wrong board and/or ROMs?

OK. well since you have two harleys this should be easy. Did you swap reels from the working game to the non working game to see if thats the issue?I would swap the whole reel assembly to make it easy. If it works then your boards are good. so look at the reels for the issue.
#2 Like raymondv said, with sinbad (eleco machines) if you take the reels off the stepper and put them back together you have a 50/50 chance of them not lining up correctly. You need to take the reel back off and turn it 180 degrees and reassemble. I don't know if IGT games are the same way but its worth a try.
    I'm sure its something simple.

Thanks all for your inputs. I am limited at what I can do as far as trouble shooting. I do not want to void any warrantee from the vendor by doing anything above and beyond what they recommend.

Also I do not want to "FRY" any parts out of my working Harley Troubleshooting this one.

I did pull the reels out. The right LED board came loose from shipping and I had to re attach it. The three reels are in their correct location from left to right based on the reel strips comparing them to my working machine. The strips are also in proper order of rotation based on the working machine. The Blue 7's are opposite the sensor tabs on the reels as they should be. As far as trying to rotate them 180 degrees that's up to the Tech to tell me to do that. I do not want to chance voiding being able to return the machine for a refund. It comes with a two year warrantee.

The mother board has been opened up in the past as the security strips are broken as are the security strips on the two main chips on the board. They are still the original chips due to the fact the the numbers on the security strips on the chips match the number on the outside of the plastic case.

My feeling is that it is a mother board issue due to the problems with the bonus counter and blue bonus lights also. The credit board I feel is good as it is accepting tokens and returning them via the hopper when you press the dump button. The attract mode is exact in timing to the good machine so the board above the reels which handles this and the audio portion of the machine is also working fine.

I'm waiting to hear back from the seller and shipper as to the next course of action.

Again the main reason for this post was to hear all of your feelings on the game play this machine is doing to reassure me that I am not having a "Polish" moment about it not working correctly and any problems other Harley owners might have had in the past and what fixed them.

Sid, I contacted Arby's friend in Japan and I have a 40 foot High Boy container on the way full of Raman.

I am sure it is a chip problem. At times if three grape replays line up they do flash but do not give a replay. If the align from top left to bottom right sometimes it does give a replay. When other symbols line up they do flash but either do not pay out, pay out correctly or over pay out.

The sensors on the reels are picking up position but the mother board is not acting upon them correctly.

Exclamation Re: A twin but "IT'S" sick

    Up Date...

I'm 100% sure it's a bad mother board. I did some more digging around the inside of the machine and found the ribbon cable from the top of the reels to the mother board not secured. It has rubbed on the edge of the reel casing and at least two wires have worn through the insulation and contacted the metal reel frame. You can see in the first picture one of the plastic tabs the ribbon cable is supposed to be secured to.

The Drop shipper has agreed that the board is bad. Last I have heard from the vendor is that parts are being ordered from Japan to repair the machine.

It needs a new mother board, reel to motherboard ribbon cable and door key reset micro switch. (one of the two metal tabs on the micro switch are not there)

Has anyone out there in PachiTalk Land ever been able to do this before with a vendor to repair a machine?

I contacted IGT in Japan awhile back asking about obtaining Harley Parts. The answer was, "not available".

But then I am not a vendor or drop shipper that orders 20 and 40 foot containers.
