    Default New cabinets

    I just finished my pachinko cabinets. Top tray can hold lots of balls, remote power switch for each machine, air vent to alow the machines to breath, and a large bottom tray to catch ball until I get some ball returns. last but not least is adding Dave's Dongles. Here are the pics

    That is a really good design, another thing that can be done is to tie the top hoppers and bottoms together with a ball lifter on one end and it would be just like a parlor. I like it. Great games too

    I forgot to mention; the cabinets are modular each one is hanging on its own cleat. The cabinets have overlaping molding so you can add another center cabinet or more and expand the row.

    I just posted a question about power you may be able to answer easily. How many of these pachinko machines can go on one 15amp circuit, or alternately, how many amps do each pull?

    thanks,

    Barry

    Really nice cabinets!

    At some point I will be building custom cabinets as well. I think I am going to do floor standing cabinets, but only to make storage under them for all my junk and eventually a ball handling system...

    Most of my machines have a 5amp transformer, so I guess only 3 on a 15amp service if you are going to run them all at once. Mine are on a 20amp breaker and I have had no problem. My other wall will have 4 machines on it. I checked the amp pull on my machines, just playing they average about 3.5 amps. During a fever they all pull closer to 5.

    If I am correct; that is on the output side of the transformer. The draw on the input side from the main should be much lower. I will have to check to be sure with my trusty Kill-A-Watt meter. I have 5 on a 15amp with no problem.

    Update: Here is what some of my machines draw.
    007 w/ 7 amp transformer pulls between .98 amps and 1.18amps.
    Top gun w/7 amp transformer pulls only .35amps.
    Star Trek w/7 amp transformer pulls only .67 amps.

    At this rate you could place about 14 or 15 machines on a 15amp circuit.

    I run 11 on a 15 amp service with no trouble at all. I know this has been brought up before, I just can't find the thread. I think in the input side the draw is around 1 amp

    I've got a parlor transformer that puts out 41.6amp (1kva) 24VAC and draws 15amps at 100VAC

    Let's see if I do this right the first time... Calculating power is as easy as PIE...
    Power (watts) = I (amps) * E (voltage)
    120W = 5A * 24V
    120W = I * 120V
    120W / 120V = 1A (1.04A for 115V, 1.09A for 110V)

    SO, if you used all 5 amps on the 24V side (you'd want a bigger transformer if that were the case), you'd be pulling 1 amp from the wall.

    Your right, I put the meter on the wrong side of the transformer. I'm going to have to get me one of those kill-a-watt meters. It would be great to see if I can find what equipment (freezer or what) is killing our electric billl.

    Three machines plus ball handlers only draw 1.8 to 2.1amps from the wall. All machines where running at the same time.No fevers...
