It's 220-240V so you can easily buy a transformer. I bought one while living in the UK. You will also need old German coins called pfennig that were used before the Euro. You can buy them on e-bay. Here is picture of the machine that I have and a link to a great German site about them. $650 is a good bit more than they would sell for in Europe, but it's a nice looking machine.

Go to ebay.co.uk and seach rotamint and spielautomaten with the European Union button checked. If you want to see a lot of them, go to the German e-bay site and search the same.

Its 220 volts eddie and the plug is a type G As explained below

    TYPE G

(mainly used in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong) This plug has three rectangular prongs that form a triangle. British Standard BS 1363 requires use of a three-wire grounded and fused plug for all connections to the power mains (including class II, two-wire appliances). British power outlets incorporate shutters on line and neutral contacts to prevent someone from pushing a foreign object into the socket.
The British domestic electrical system uses a ring circuit in the building which is rated for 32 amps (6 amps for lighting circuits which are usually spurs). Moreover, there is also a fusing in the plug; a cartridge fuse, usually of 3 amps for small appliances like radios etc. and 13 amps for heavy duty appliances such as heaters. Almost everywhere else in the world a spur main system is used. In this system each wall socket, or group of sockets, has a fuse at the main switchboard whereas the plug has none. So if you take some foreign appliance to the UK, you can use an adaptor, but technically it must incorporate the correct value fuse. Most would have a 13 amps one, too big for the computer for example. BS 1363 was published in 1962 and since that time it has gradually replaced the earlier standard plugs and sockets (type D) (BS 546).

No, it is type C and some cases F type (grounded) plug like almost all European countries have. It is known as "Schukostecker" plug, commonly abbreviated as "Schuko." The C plug is known as "Euro-plug"

And the voltage is nowadays 230V. Maybe old Rotamints work with 220V because they are usually from 60's and 70's. Most old machines are mechanical and the electricity is used only for lightning. Usually simple bulbs or short fluorescent tube. Go for it. They are lot of fun and cheap too.

Bring it back up and reload the page. Then click on any area on the video except for the 2 play arrows. It should open up in another window. If not reload the page again, click on the menu and copy the URL to you clipboard and you can open it in another Tab.

type "c" only has 2 pins not blades and the "f" also has pins not blades .Just because it was made in Germany doesn't mean it spent its life in Germany or that it now has a German plug on it . Take another look at the plug pictured in eddies description and heres a guide to compare them to and you'll see the difference World electric power plug adaptor guide

The plug is definitely not the square pin BS1363 UK type plug ie. type G in the guide you linked to, Trust me I've stepped on* enough UK plugs to know.

It's also not one of the European ones that I'm familiar with either. Perhaps it's a German one that pre-dates the Schuko plug.

Either way, it looks old enough that it would probably be a good idea to replace it with something more modern.

    * It is generally accepted that one of the most painful things in the world is stepping on a UK mains plug with bare feet. This is an altogether too common occurrence on these fine shores, as the design of the plug and the way the cable exits from it, results in a natural resting position (for a plug that has been discarded on the floor) of a pins skywards orientation. This of course is a full and fitting testament to the many hours spent by the finest scientific and engineering minds in the country, who came together in 1962 determined to design the 'safest mains plug system in the world'.
