    Default Nope

If your talking about cleaning them while they are still in the machine and just turning them and wiping them off.
I've cleaned and moved the reels around on my machines with no problem.
The machine knows what position the reels are in. They appear to be controlled by a stepper motor.

    Clean away!

    Cheers,

    Ray

Please don't use a cleaner that leaves any residue on your reels, use a water or acholhal based cleaner

I always use eeither sop and wate ror windex without ammonia. Either one seems to work great, even if they dont look like they need it, you shoudl alwyas clean them when you get a new machine, youll be amazed at all the dirt and smoke on them!

On all of my machines, I have removed the reels (not hard to do) and cleaned both outside and inside the reel. You may find that the inside is filthy- will turn your rag brown. Also- the reel wheels have alignment slots so that if you remove the reel from the motor shaft, it will line up again. The reels also have a sensor- see 1st link- that aligns the reels.

Here is a step by step pictorial on how to remove a Slot Reel that has the quick disconnect carriage. (Don Don King for example)

Hers a good one for ya! I got the Babel today. It had a burned out bulb on the center reel. So I decide to take the reels out and replace the build and clean the reels while I'm at it. Worked out great got it back together and it worked. So I decided to clean up the Don Don With the post from RKnarr01 on his Don Don and the babel no problem. I take them out clean them clean everything els. Put them back in hook every thing up and turn on machine. Spin a few round every thing looks good. Then I hit a regular bonus and it doesn't do anything then I do some more spins Right reel lands on a replay and it pays out two for a chary. I put the reels in the wrong order! Had to find a reel chart and shure enough. The reels on the babel could only go one way. This will teach me to pay more attention.
