I've found that divorce is something I excel at. You might say I won one for all the poor dumb $%#^%# that get taken to the cleaners.

Now take the backhoe back to the rental shop, make sure the sod is well fed, and get on with your life!

Who needs a formal dining room when there are TV trays?

Which, BTW, I rarely use...I eat at the computer.

Well I needed room so out went the $3600 TV! I gave it away.

In its place I built a stand over FathersDay and just finished cleaning up the mess.

I made the stand match the Platform/ Sauder TV stands combo of the rest of the room. Three Sauder Stands were to wide for the space.

The stand incorporates the stereo so everything looks uniform.

Now the Bedroom is a Pachinko Room as I moved the 2 Pachislos to the New stand.

Hey, Thanks not only for the great pics, but for bumping this thread again!

A game room is actually whatever your tastes and interests are, all wrapped up into one location. I've seen a number of interesting ones and it's funny to see that we all seem to have common interests, outside of pachis as well. I look at your photos and can point at a numnber of things common to my room (the popcorn bucket for instance...I have a machine and some buckets for mine). If you enjoy all you've made the room to be, then it's just as good as anyone else's game room.

I started on mine because the family room had become a place where the couch potatoes sat and stared mindlessly at the TV. I remember playing board games, etc as a kid with my family growing up. I wanted a seperate room where we could interact without the TV as a distraction. I also wanted a place of my own that the wife had no say in decorating (yes, she fits the definition of a ball-and-chain when it comes to interior design. Good Lord, what's wrong with a neon Coors Light sign in the living room window???)

I also wanted a place where I could light up a cigar without geting my butt kicked outside. It's embarrassing having the guys over for a poker game and having to step outside in the snow for a cigar. Takes away from the ambience of a good poker game.

So I chose a vacant attic in the house and began. At the moment, the summer heat is stifling in there, but progress is steady. Pictures to come soon!

OK, I took a break from some tractor work (it's getting hot outside!) to climb into my stifling attic to photgraph my progress as promised.

I divided the room into three rooms, one for poker, one for pachislos, and one for pachinko. The entrance will be from the floor between the pachislos and the poker room. Currently, the floor has not been cut and I must access through a window. Likewise, everything you see was brought up a ladder through a second story window.

The first photo depicts the poker room. I have yet to finish the table, and it won't fit through the window, so I have to wait. I am currently installing a laminate floor that will cover all three rooms. The back wall you see will be tiled in a brick fascia. Note the small fridge (already full of beer, and a freezer large enough to fill with a bottle of Jaegermeister) and microwave. No expense spared, despite that these were thrift store items. Each bay between the trusses will be covered and used for storage.

The second photo depicts the view from the poker room toward the pachislo room. The half-wall you see protects drunken poker players from falling into the future stairwell. Beyond is the pachislo room. The height of the ceiling is 6.' I am 6'2" so I decided to finish the ceiling in between each truss. Ok, so I have to duck every two feet. The pachislo room has the only finished ceiling, but I guess folks will be sitting in there.

The third photo is my Schaefer beer sign. Vintage, and it makes you hungry if not thirsty. Not so sure if Schaefer is good stuff. Never tried it.

Photo four is the pachislo room with and the pachinkos beyond.

Photos five, six and seven are some of the pachinkos built into a sort of kiosk. I can access from behind when finished, or open a machine up to access from the front. The tubes below are for ball handling, not yet worked out. I also want to work out a common fill area to distribute balls to the top of each machine.

There you go! I'll post more when I have some significant progress. At the moment, the heat is prohibitive, and the wife is not liking the money I have spent on lumber. (I should not have married an accountant.)

See Compirate! Others have the sickness as well!
