Default Have you complained to PayPal?

I'm starting this thread to keep track of everyone that has officially filed a complaint with PayPal about being cheated out of the 2 free months on the P.C. website.

    I filed mine yesterday.

His response to PayPal was "buyer did not sign up during the 2 month free trial." (which, of course is a total lie.)

Today I will be filing my response to his response.

To file a claim with PayPal, log into your PayPal account then select "security center" at the bottom of any page. Click on "Buyer Complaint Process" Near the bottom of that page click on "File a Claim"

PLEASE POST A MESSAGE TO THIS THREAD WHEN YOU HAVE FILED YOUR CLAIM.

I just talked (yes, actually talked - not just email) to a PayPal security person. They said that it is extremely important that EVERYBODY that was scammed by P.C. file a claim.

On any individual complaint they have no way of determining who is telling the truth. So they are always look for patterns of complaints.

My particular case is on hold for the next 5 days - which is that standard time period they allow for the person that filed the claim to cancel it in response to the information provided by the seller. So, in five days the claim will automatically be sent on to a human for review.

I think it would be in all of our best interests (and that of the entire pahcislo community) if as many legitimate claims as possible where in PayPal's hands when our claims start coming up for review.

There are tools that PayPal can use to easily disprove P.C.'s claims that the 2 month bonus was not being offered when any of us signed up. PayPal will have the dates of our original subscription. And, there are a number of specialized search engines that actually hold archived copies of websites. So they will be able to see that the 2 free months offer was indeed in effect at that time. I have already checked this and I found the offer to be present on pages with dates that bracket that time that I joined.

For the sake of helping others determine whether the 2 free months offer was in effect when they joined - do any of the early members of that site remember when the offer was first made? Was there ever a time when it was not?

Not sure if this would do anyone any good on this but I have this email send to me on Sun 2/15.. I can forward this email with header information to anyone who needs it.

    Hi Bob,

You can cancel anytime you wish. The 2 free months start once your
membership expires or is cancelled, in order to prevent the site from
being abused. In other words, once your membership expires or is
cancelled, you name and password will remain active for an additional
    60 days.

I filed yesterday, and got a refund today.

Note, I was online with PC for less than a month, so it was probably easier to refund the $2.99 than deal with PayPal.

I just filed the following complaint:

Subscription was to include many items listed on the main page that simply do NOT exist within the site once subscribed. Further, site claims to offer a two month "free trial" period upon cancelling the subscription, but has not been granted. Access was IMMEDIATELY cut-off upon cancelling this subscription through PayPal. Despite repeated attempts to contact Dave Helmig (administrator of Pachislocity.com website, and payee of this subscription) regarding these issues, and other false claims used to bait users into subscribing, I have heard no reply. He continues to use this site to trick unknowing users into subscriptions, hiding behind the legitimacy of PayPal! In fact, he brags about subscriptions continuing within posts on a message board in this site. (So I have been told by others that still have access). I have kept a copy of an email from Mr. Helmig that states the "free trial" starts after cancellation, and will share that with PayPal if necessary.
I know that I am not the only one to complain about this site through this process. I don't understand why PayPal continues to allow this kind of deceit to continue by abusing their subscription service... by him knowing of your 30 day complaint restriction! As this continues, it only makes PayPal look as illegitimate as his site! I wouldn't think that is in the best interests of PayPal at all.

IMMEDIATELY upon submitting it, this is what I saw:

Thank you for filing a buyer complaint.

Unfortunately, this complaint has been closed because it does not meet PayPal's complaint policy guidelines. However, your complaint has been noted in the record of the PayPal member whom you reported.

We encourage you to continue to work directly with your seller, as we have found that many misunderstandings reach amicable solutions through communication.

To learn more about PayPal's complaint policy guidelines, please go to the 'Help' link of the PayPal website and click on the Protection Policies category link.

Obviously because the subscription was made over 30 days ago!
So has he found a way to beat their system, as well as subscribers?

Maybe the Massachusetts Attorney General SHOULD be the next step... with a claim of Internet Fraud!!!

    Part 2: It ain't over!

Reported a "fake site" with this complaint:

I tried filing a complaint earlier.
Unfortunately it was immediately dismissed because the transaction was over 30 days old, and did not follow the "guidelines". This site, which offers subscriptions hiding behind the legitimacy of a PayPal transaction, not only does not deliver many claims on their main page used for subscriptions, but also claims a two month free trial upon cancellation (mouse over the "Instant Access" graphic to see it. I also have an email from Dave Helmig - pachislocity.com admin stating the trial will begin after cancellation. It does NOT) I know that many others have complained about this site, and that the site's owner brags about subscriptions continuing! Why does PayPal continue to allow their own name to be dragged down by site?
By abusing PayPal's own guidelines for cancellations, he has found a way to not only dupe subscribers, but use YOUR services and "guidelines" to cover himself! Meanwhile, PayPal looks illegitimate by allowing it to happen!

    Accepted, and will respond "shortly".

    We'll see...

To make the complaint fall within the 30 day rule I filed mine based on my most recent payment, not the original subscription payment.

For any of you that are too lazy to go over there and click, here's what PayPal has to say:

"This recipient is currently unable to receive money."

    Dear members,

Due to recent complication with our Paypal account and subscription website script, you will not be currently be charged for your membership. We should have everything straightened out before the first of the year, but we wanted to let everyone know that their subscription fees will be waived during this period.

Once we get the matter resolved, you MAY receive an email asking to re-signup using a different paypal address (still from the domain of pachislocity.com). When signing up again for your subscription, be SURE that the payee's email address ends in PACHISLOCITY.COM. Anything else would prove to be a fake. Again, this may or may not be required, it depends on the answers we receive from our tech support people with subscription script.

While these changes are being made, if you receive an email from paypal stating that your subscription payment could not be processed, please disregard it, as you will still have full access.

Thank you again for your time, and for your support of this great hobby of ours.

Have a merry christmas and happy holidays!

    Regards,
    Dave
