    Default pickup fees?

why do some companies charge you almost half the price of shipping to pick up a machine? its almost worth the other half to have it delivered, i dont think there should be pickup fees for handling and such. but maybe thats just my opinion!

I live in Wisconsin. 7 mile slots is about an hour from me and closer if I have a job in the area. Before they would not even let me pick it up. now they will but will charge me half the shipping cost just for me to go home with it. If that is not bad enough even if I get it over the Internet they say I will still have to pay sales tax because I'm in Wisconsin! I can give my money to a different state and not get taxed on it but try to keep my money in the state and help ower economy and I get BLANKED from my own state! If they would not charge me the fee to pick it up it would pay to do business with them even with my own state taxing me. But I am better off paying the out of state vendor.

We charge a pickup fee so that we don't undercut our local dealers. We have 3 retail stores in our area that carry our machines. We charge the pickup fee and don't do retail our of our warehouse to protect them. Not everyone likes that reason, but those 3 dealers are trying to make a living too and it is not fair to take their business as they buy wholesale from me. If my customers don't like the pickup fee, we can always ship or we send them to one of those retail dealers in my area. That is why we do it. Milt (Stealth Home Amusement)

thats exactly what im talking about laz i was to buy a beast sapp from stealth for 250-300 on ebay but then add on 8% to the 300 then its 324 then when you add on the 30 pickup fee it comes up to 354. i can get it cheaper out of state. i just dont think companies should charge pickup fees when your doing business with them when there are many companies online and another company in my area locally

So how does this work for the people that go to a local place and what to pickup say six machines. Some to keep and some to resale. Do we then get them as wholesale and still have to pay pickup fees? DO we need to do something special to get machines at wholesale prices?

right laz that would be almost 200 in pickup fees. you get a good deal on the machine on the ebay bid and then get slammed with 50 dollars in fees with taxes and pickup fees

Davis. So whats a tax Id and how do you get one? Maybe 7 Mile will deal with me if I'm not a guy looking to buy one machine at a time and trying to save something on the shipping!

i think you have to have a registered business with the state for selling these types of machines

should be able to, they just asked if I had one, and I gave them that one. Didnt even ask what the company name was. They just write the number on each invoice when I buy machines!

maybe ill just go register a business name with the state and then when i pickup machines i hopefully wont have to pay tax or pickup fees or both do you think stealth would still charge?

One other point on using a tax ID to avoid the sales tax, you do have to be buying the machines for resale. If you plan to keep them for personal use, you do (legally) have to pay the sales tax.

that doesn't mean you can't test the machines for awhile before selling them

as long as your selling most of them there wont be a problem i dont think if you kept one or two. if no one buys them thats not your problem as long as you try ill just try to sell it for a ridiculous price
