    Default Pre-paid card/Card Reader/Dongles technical information.

A bit of shameless self promotion for a change , as I've just put the finishing touches to the first of the pachinko technical guides for my website.

This one is a little bit of history about the pre-paid card system used in the Japanese pachinko parlours, and some technical information about the card reader interface found on modern pachinko machines.

The article includes pinouts of the D-25 card reader interface connector, with signal descriptions and an example schematic diagram of how they'd be connected in a pachinko machine.

There are also details on the regular CR bypass dongles usually found on pachinko machines (what they do, and how they are made), and one of the methods of modifying a machine so that the shooter handle is permanently enabled (so a dongle is not needed).

Finally there's a couple of short paragraphs about the Card Reader Emulator system, and a recently discovered Japanese version of the same idea (though naturally it's not as good as my ones ).

The only thing that's missing is the signal timing and protocol information that is needed to make the machine pay out balls. Seeing as it took me 3 months to figure that out for myself (so I could make the card reader emulator dongles), I'm a little bit reluctant to publish it all for free just yet.

I'd appreciate any comments. If it is considered worthy of a link in the research center, then let me know and I'll upload a second version of the html with my website navigation bars removed, so it doesn't mess up the layout of the research center. (Please don't create an entry using the above link without my permission)

Next one planned, is a similar style of guide on the subject of Battle Counters.
