Do they say you have to use it on dogs? Perhaps an errant boyfriend/husband/girlfriend/wife?

2 guys selling coins were messing with one on tv, the little guy wore it and the other guy zapped him lightly a few times.

then he hit full power and the little guy fell on the ground when he got zapped

he kept saying, "I can't believe you would do that to me"

then the girl that helps them came on and she zapped him too

    I couldn't stop laughing

p.s. I would never consider using one on Samson!!!

Dogs have it too easy... They need something to keep them in line. I wish they had one that shocked them right as they started peeing all over your new carpet...

While I would never consider using a cheap 'Hong Kong off-brand' of one of these, I do have something similar by Innotek.

I paid more for that than I did for the dog.

It came with a 'training' remote, but I don't use it. My yard has a buried cable that I installed and tuned, and my Golden wears the collar for containment. It's like an 'invisible fence'.

I am a dog lover of the highest kind, and would never hurt my dog or any other. With proper training, fence systems work. BUT... you have to spend the time to acquaint your dog with the boundaries, set up flags as visual aids to show him where the line is located, and work with him for a few weeks on it... tone only at first. You work your way around the yard, showing him the boundaries... then over time, you start removing every other flag. Eventually, the tone is enough warning... but they do test it at times, just like a kid tests his 'limits'.

When you properly introduce a dog to the system, they learn quickly, and don't get 'zapped'. NEVER just put the collar on him and turn him loose without teaching him about boundaries!!!

BTW... it shuts down if the stimulation lasts longer than 4 or 5 seconds, in case the dog is in a 'trapped' situation. Unfortunately, my Golden has figured that out... and sometimes if he spots a squirrel, he'll sit at the edge of the yard and take that correction until it shuts off... so that he can go play with the critter.
I don't know if that means he's smart or dumb.
So it must not be TOO painful for him.

IMO, a beep and (if it's ignored) THEN a 'mild correction' (it feels like a pinch... and yes, I've tried it on myself!) is much more humane than chaining a dog outside on a limited lead.
And it's certainly more humane than letting a dog run freely, with a chance of being hit by a car if he decides to go on the street.

But again... I would never trust anything but the best for something like this, and would stay away from the 'cheap' stuff.
