I put an offer of $210 in for the $250 BIN one and it was instantly accepted. So he has probably set up the $135 BIN the same way. I've been looking to get one vintage to add to the collection and figured it could be a long time before other machines in this condition came up.

Keep us updated on your machine, would love to know the real condition on these and if they are new, would also be interested if the original box has any clues to its origins!!

    Here's yet another for $250 BIN/OBO!!

I received my machine a few days ago. He shipped it in the original thin box with one layer of bubble-wrap. Thankfully it arrived without damage. The machine looked like it was taken out of the parlour and put right into the box. The box just had Pachinko along with the contents list printed on it but no indication of the company reselling.

It was very dirty but otherwise in good condition. Certainly not ready for resale to someone buying their first pachinko for the family or kids. This was a little disappointing since I was expecting something coming out of a time capsule for the first time in 30-40 years. But after several hours of disassembly and cleaning, I'm pleased with the purchase. (I actually enjoyed cleaning off crud that probably last saw the light of day in an old time, smokey parlour.)

Ended up with a vintage machine with zero watermarks on the play surface, almost perfect chrome and all the parts in excellent condition. The only thing it needs is a little paint to touch up some of the flippers and spinners worn down in the parlour, and power for the lights.

We've all seen the stained cells on vintage machines. These auctions support my theory that the machines did not leave Japan in the state that we've seen them. The Japanese would have known not to spray a water based cleaner on the cell. But a minimum wage employee of the importer who'd just been handed a bottle of Windex and a rag wouldn't.

    My 2 cents.

Red face Re: $752 final bid on vintage

I still remember our first machine. It was an X-mass gift for my dad back around 72 or so. We bought it out of the Sears catalog. When we picked it up it was in the same kind of box that is in the pictures of these other autions. Maybe we got lucky but it was spotless when he opened it.

I think that is why I'm such an adict to the sphere, I was started on it when I was still very young. LOL

I agree. A couple of years ago we got the original '73 vintage Pachinko machine back from my In-Laws when they broke up house keeping for a 'retirement villa'.My future wife and I gave it to them in '73 as a Christmas present for their bar.

That is what caused me to fall off the wagon . I went out to eBay to buy some replacement Pachinko balls (danger Will Robinson!!!).

in the first one you just listed, the nail position is not masamura and there seems to be 6 pockets in a row across the top.

    anyone seen this machine before?

It's a Sanyo with a modified Masamura, to accommodate the top 6 pockets, the bottom half is still Masamura. Lotsa extra pinwheels too! I've got a Heiwa with 4 top side pockets, plus the center plus 5 tulips, another with 7 tulips and 3 pockets, a Sanyo with 10 standard pockets plus the center and 2 tulips, and one with 6 top side pockets, the center and 5 tulips.

Oh, and one of those Powerflashy things around here somewhere too! (missing a little guy in the middle though )

Thanks for sharing! I am currently restoring a machine exactly like the second one (No More War 2) so I will be watching this auction closely. Mine has only two small water stains on the cell, but they are located outside of the play area. Other than that, the machine will look as good as new once it has been completed (and yes, I will post pics!! ).

I just came across this thread while I was looking for something else. I bought one of these "BRAND NEW" machines back in February of 2008...I believe the seller's name was "San Purdue"; supposedly he has gotten all of these machines from estate sales...at the time, I was pumped about the purchase...as has been discussed, it came in the box that it was sent to Sears in. There was one thin layer of bubble wrap, and the box was almost in tatters when I got it. It was a mid-70's Sankyo (Pagoda) ...a picture is on my "Toy" photos. It's a good looking machine on the surface, but it was stored in a damp place and much of the screws and metal pieces on the back of the machine are oxidized. The pins need a good shining, but the cell has no water marks.

My total out of pocket was $150...and when I got it, I was PISSED.

The ad was 100% misleading...he advertised it as BRAND NEW, NEVER BEEN USED. It was clearly a well used machine from the Japanese parlors, a piece of the ash tray was broken, and the wooden frame has a split in it.

I immediately contacted him and factually stated that I would never have bought it if I had any clue that it was not a brand new machine. He wanted to knock $30 off of it, or I could send it back to him for a full refund (of course, he expected me to pay the shipping).

I told him I wanted $70 back (total investement of $80), or I would ship it back to him at his expense. In retrospect, I should have demanded a $100 haircut, but I didn't.

Anyway, he VERY reluctantly refunded me $70 (minus the ebay fee). He also told me that the "estate sellers that he was working for" took a loss on the machine. Number 1, I didn't believe him, and Number 2, I didn't care due to his misrepresentation of the condition. Subsequent to these events, I noticed that his future listings did not represent the machines as brand new.

    Oh well.. That's my story.
I'm not addicted to Pachinkos. I can quit at any time. Did I tell you about the three machines that I have on the way?
