    Default Harley Lot :(

    :smt018

From the auction: Look at all current and pass Harley Slot auctions, nothing compares.
    Harley Lot

If you are new to Pachislo's be warned this particular auction is for regular machines with the belly glass replaced.

Some customizers do a great job, but they tell you it's custom. Heck even I have made a custom machine and sold for profit, but I went as far as providing the original belly glass in case they wanted to put back OEM.

Several members here customize machines and they look awesome! Mostly because they put some thought into it. :smt034

I just think this seller isn't being upfront.

I am curious - why do they still have the "license" stickers on them. if they are custom jobs?

2 Yajuu (Rodeo, 2003) and 1 Wantouchable (Sammy, 2004). It looks like they were used in Japan after the belly glass was changed. They all have a registration sticker and the gold "Amusement Machine Mark" inspection sticker. Some parlors change the belly glass to match the theme of the parlor.

    Excellent point,

I wonder if these particular belly's image could be pulled away??? Then replaced???

Or like Pachi_sloter said it was customized and put back into play, but I wonder what Harley would think of that! I would guess it would have been an independent casino that did it if that occured (not the manufacture or officially licensed).

Like others have said before, wouldn't the reels have a matching symbol somewhere?

These look very nice and since they were played in parlors in Japan I am sure they have some value to someone. Harley Davidson apparently doesn't care + neither does any of the others. Learn to live with this stuff as trademark rights etc do not come into play in these. Why not just join in and make your own ?

Yes I guess the pictures for the belly glass might be a separate sheet that was taken out and replaced after they were imported. I didn't think of that. My MS Gundam has a belly glass that uses a separate sheet for the art.

I use to work for Harley-Davidson. They have a major problem with people do this but when they catch you they are very nasty about it. They will get a court order and seize all machines and equipment used to make belly glass. ThatÂ’s just the starting point. I have seen them put more t-shirt dealers out of business then I can remember.

This seller isn't even listing a shipping charge either. They certainly aren't stock machines and you have to wonder if they might have taken a razor blade to the stickers to take them off intact too?

They also have a Derby Boy (Sammy, 2003) with a Playboy belly glass on ebay. They must have more than one of each machine because the stickers are in different spots in different photos.

Bob sorry to break this to you but this has been going on for quite awhile on Ebay now. I know for sure (via friend of a ex friend) that Harley had been contacted and they just shrugged their shoulders. They seem to like the advertising. You will be seeing more of this since nothing will be done about it. In fact I think a Harley emblem on a Taco slot would be....

I agree that Taco slots would look good with a Harley belly glass.

I feel sorry for the people that buys these machines thinking they are getting a really Harley Davidson slot machine. I worked for them for 8 years doing 156 Harley dealers computer systems. I have seen first hand what they do to companies that use there logo's and trade marks without there permission first hand. I just hope these people have good lawyers. :smt073

Harley doesnt care as long as you show the original machine and then show the custom glass with it. You have to list it as say an exhaust machine with a free harley glass kit. Thats what i was told when i talked to them! Basically they dont want people thinking its an original and then if it breaks down, contacting them and asking whos gonna fix it! I totally understand where they are coming from!

Yepper I think just by looking on Ebay you will see that all is ok with this. There certainly has been an example set. And that example is that it is ok to do anything on a customized Pachislo. Customized Pachislos are going to be the Krispy Kreme Donuts of the slot machine world !
Davis I agree Harley doesn't care and I really don't think the original machine has to be shown in the auctions. Besides its good for Harley to have all this free advertising... BTW did they give you the ok in writing?....

All I will say is that Harley makes millions off the use of there logos from companies like Drag Specialties, Custom Chrome and T-shirt sales. They are very different from companies like Coke. Which would enjoy free advertising. They don't care if you use a picture of a bike or biker but if you use one of their trade mark logos they have a major problem. If you look at some of the belly glass the has the bar and shield you will not see any trade make stamp.

    Here is an example.
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW

This is were there problem is. They are using an unlicensed logo that Harley did not design and they are making money from it. Harley has half the US Customs work for them seizing cargo as it comes in from China.

Go talk to any Harley Dealer and they will tell you all about it or call Milwaukee. I just don't want to see anyone that worked so hard to get there business going to lose it over a stupid belly glass because they didn't know any better. If you like pm me and I will give you my 800 number and go in to great detail about this and why. Also I have some very funny stories about this too if you want to here them.

As a Harley owner myself and having had many conversations on this very subject with two dealers in the area, I agree with Webdude's analysis... Harley very aggressively protects its licensed trademarks.

    Not on Ebay :!: :!:

Ebay tells Harley Davidson what happens. Ebay is a country to its own and has it's own laws that it selectively enforces.

You all talk about that you talked to Harley representatives etc etc but take a look on Ebay and you will see more Harley non approved custom stuff than ever. Same with Pepsi and Budweiser etc. None of this makes a difference to Ebay. Ebay laughs their way to the bank because they just put the disclaimer out there that they are not responsible for anything and legally nothing can be done. Gawd what a business ! They are so big now that they do what they want :!:
