    Default Newbie Questions

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a vintage pachinko machine. We had one when I was younger (not sure what ever happened to it) that looked like the 70's or pre-70's style and I'd love to get one now if I can convince my other half that we have the room and the time to play with it.

I've been looking at the ones on sale at Ebay after reading the post on buying on Ebay. I don't have the time to buy a non-working one and try to fix it up, although I think it would be cool to try it sometime. I think that as long as it's in working condition and looks okay in the pictures that it would be fine with me, but what is a good price to pay for one? I've seen them go as high as $150 recently and am not sure if that's because Christmas is around the corner.

If the machine has less than 100 balls, is it easy to find the right size and buy more?

The machines Pachinkoman sells look really nice, but $300 is a high price. Is it worth the price?

Pachinko machines have changed a lot. Is there a website which shows pictures of what they've looked like through the decades?

If I might be interested in a non-vintage one. Is there a buying guide or does someone have recommendations on buying one of those? For now I'll be reading through old posts to try to learn as much as I can.

    Thank you.

Welcome to PachiTalk!! I joined this site a month ago with nothing but one vintage machine, but now I have four modern pachinko's. (Tiger Mask, Julie Pinball, Top Gun, and Star Wars) You probably will get more use from one of the modern one's. They are much more entertaining.

If you are looking for a vintage machine you need to take your time and find one that meets your needs. If you do not have time to fix one then you will probbaly want to go with a restored machine, beacause even if it looks good and works today there may be some problems tomorrow, usually dealign with dirt in the ball paths. Fast, good or cheap pick two of the three comes to mind when dealing with vintage pachinkos, you can find them cheap but you have to look and they usually need some work. You can find them fast but most of the time they are not cheap and when you find a good one they almost always are not cheap. If you are looking for one that is in good shape with about 300-500 balls you are almost always going to pay $75-$150. Best of all if you find a good one that needs a little work there are a lot of people here willing to help you.

    Best of luck and welcome

Thanks all, I really appreciate it. I've seen some on Ebay that from the back picture look refurbished, so I'll keep looking to find the right one and when I do, hopefully I'll be given the green light to get one.

Default Guess what I got today!

Ha ha! Now I know why my other half was strongly saying we didn't have room or the time to play one. I got a pachinko machine for Christmas today! Relatives are in town, so we celebrated early.

It was bought from slot-pachinko.com and is a modern one called Lion Heart http://www.slot-pachinko.com/06PHTL/P2006LIONHEART.HTM. This old post calls it a Savana King http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/show...n+heart&page=2.

Unfortunately its very loud and I can't find a volume control, so I have to wait until tomorrow to play more or it will wake the babies (ours and my sister's).

The video play looks very complicated and I guess I should just keep shooting multiple balls to see what happens.

I'm still eyeing a vintage one and hope we can get one sometime...

    Hello All,

I hear about this swapping cells out all the time. Who sells just cells? The only two I have ever seen are the ones Arby has for cell in the auction area.

I'd stick with Arby if I were you. Yahoo Japan is a tough route to go.
    Meanwhile, somewhere in Oklahoma.

    Guy? It's Gal.

    What's a 79 Super?

I think I'm hooked. I received a modern one already for Christmas. If I'm allowed to get more I definitely want a vintage one first. Then maybe a pachislo for variety and then a lumina frame pachinko since we have limited space.
