Default Jaws LOUD alarm. How to stop it ?

I have a JAWS pachinko that I love but it has a LOUD alarm that goes off for about 30-seconds whenever it is turned on. I am assuming maybe it is becasue it is not attached to a parlors LAN anymore ? I mean it is LOUD. Like a buglar alarm !

Has anyone seen this before on these Kyoraku machines ?

More importantly, does anyone know how to disable these alarms ?(before my wife makes me resale it !)

    Wife =

I have a Okinawa in the Volcano frame and it to has the blaring loud alarm when it is powered up. The best I have found is to switch the factory volume to the lowest setting and deal with it. Unfortunately I don't think there is anyway to disable this tone as it is a safety device for the parlors (but still very annoying)

    And welcome to pachitalk

Bummer, not just me then. I tried volume controls but it is a pain having to open the case to turn them back up everytime.

Should I re-post this on the pachinko tech side ?

No, you don't have to repost, a Mod will move it if they see fit. There is enough in your title to draw in the technical minds These machines are great, but they are LOUD!!! Hopefully, someone will have a fix for you.

Perhaps 2 exterior mounted switchs instaled in the speaker leads might work. You could turn the speakers off when powering up and then just switch them on after the alarm sequence..
I think the switch would only need to be placed on one speaker lead to work.
Primitive but I think it will work as long as the speakers are out of the circut for only a short time. Otherwise you might damage the sound system.

I have the same problem with a cyclic Ultraman. I thought it was just a problem with cyclic machines. My contact in Japan spoke with the seller and they said that there was no way to fix it.

I think this would be a no load on the Apm ?

I have not found a work around for it.

If you are on a power strip just leave it on would do it or have a old heavy blanket and put it over it, than turn it on.

I think this is has to do with some internal memory being cleared. I have a Heiwa that does something like that, instead it is an angry Japanese person yelling at me for several seconds upon power up. If you've got it plugged into a power strip and you flip it off when not playing, it completely cuts off power to the transformer.

One way around this is to leave the power strip turned on and just power off the machine using its own switch, as Arby said. The transformer will still be getting power and I suppose some small amount of current on the 24v side is still used to keep memories refreshed. The downside to this is...the transformer will still be getting power. I have a machine where it gets pretty warm, even in this 'off' state. Depending on what you have, you could also upgrade the transformer to something higher quality with heat cut off. That would give you more peace of mind leaving it powered up all the time.

Or you can just give me your Jaws machine, I don't mind the noise.

turn the power strip on, as soon as the alarm or yelling starts, turn the power strip off and back on again

My Dragon Monkey does this every time I turn it on. doing the above stops it

The Heiwa machines just shout 'Memory Clear' at you if they've been switched off for a few days, and you get into a reflex action of switching them on for about half a second, then off and back on again. You could probably fix this permanently by wiring in a backup battery for the retained memory, but to be honest it's a lot of effort to go to for something that can be mitigated by a quick flick of the switch.

I think the Kyoraku ones do this every time they're powered up and the power switch trick won't work. (Not certain as I don't have any Kyoraku machines myself). You should be able to install a switch inline with the speakers to switch them off during the power up sequence with no worries. The kind of amplifier chips used in these machines won't have a problem with there not being a load on their outputs.

If you're really smart you could use a relay on the speaker wires and power it from a small delay circuit, so the speakers are only connected after the machine has been powered up for long enough to let the alarm sequence finish.

If I had a Kyoraku machine, I'd be tempted to design something like this. Anyone local happen to have a spare Yellow Cab (I'd even take a Jaws or UltraMan but maybe not a Winter Sonata!).

The Kyoraku "Big Bang" Frame "Sirens" every power up. Volume controls DO make a difference, but are different from cell to cell

OK here is a quick vid of the power up and alarm. It will do this every time the machine is turned on from switch or power strip
