Default Cell Case is finally done

Awhile back, I talked about ideas for a box to hold all my extra Lumina cells. Well, I finally built a box a few months ago. However, it sat for a while before I could add the padding . But I finally have it done. It looks so much nicer than the cells just stacked in a corner.

I made it sturdy enough to hold up to someones weight, so eventually, I can make it a make shift stool to sit on. For now the cats use the top to sleep on...

I was just telling my wife about how I need to make a cabinet for my Lumina cells, however, I want to show them off more with something on the wall. Of course, I could start to use a lot of wall space as I get more and more cells. Your's, while not showing them off, sure is nice for storage. Thanks for sharing.

Great job, do you have any plans or dimensions for this? I have three extra lumina cells that currently are stored under a spare bed, but your idea is a lot better.

I think a padded upholstered top to sit on would be a great idea!

A very nice solution to the problem. Good protection for the vunerable cell.

    Nicely done!

What I'd like to do when I find the time is to build a shallow wall box for the Cells so that they could be hung for decoration/storage like a wall clock.

What would be really neat is some way to power the cell lights and perhaps the video screen for the attract mode action.

You need a transformer and a power supply board from a Lumina frame. That's how I did my Star Wars clock. then you can set it on a shelf and watch the lights and screen in attract mode (if I had left the LCD in it would be just like it was in the frame)

plexi glass the ends and you can see the outer two cells, then use it as a back to back machine stand. kills two birds with one stone (so to speak)

Here are some quick plans I just did in Photoshop. The first is all the pieces and what measurements to use based on your cell dimensions . The second shows how it is put together. You can then use anything to pad the inside as long as it is not too thick.

Remember to over estimate a bit on the measurements, you don't want it to fit too snug.

If anyone has a question about anything let me know.
    Happy building
