Not sure if it would work. The face plate can be changed. Guess it would depend on the connector plugs.

Doesn't say it takes ones but tried it anyway and it just spit it out. Guess I need to find an old bill and see if it works with that. So far no one has offered to send me some $100's.

Hey all, got my care package from Chrisdice today and I am happy, happy, happy. Put in the new coin comparator and new optic board and they worked great. I ran thru 200+ coins with no errors. Replaced the bulbs in the buttons with the LED's and the buttons are now a nice bright white. The only thing that did not work was the key for the reset. It did not fit the lock. This lock switch must have been changed in past. Chris, is this a standard type reset lock switch for Bally?

Anyway it is great to play a machine that does not give an error every 10 or so coins. I have built a stand for it and have only to finish the door to have it completed. When I get it done I will post a picture so you can all see the beast that I thought was junk when we started this project.

Thank you all for your help and inputs, especially Chrisdice for his generosity of some much needed parts.

Its standard for almost all slot machine. That way floor attendants don't have to carry a different key for each type of machine. Your lock must of been changed out with a different kind. so you can replace yours with any kind of keyed switch. Check Radio Shack.

I'm just glad the machine is saved and it didn't end up as a boat anchor.
    Another happy ending.

I said that I would post pictures of this machine and my slot stand a while back. Well I finally am getting around to it. The stand uses a belly glass that I got on Ebay. What do you think?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I wanted to pimp a website that I've found that has been a HUGE help with my slot machine problems -- http://www.newlifegames.net/. I own three slot machines (and now one Pachi today!). In fact, it was someone in the message forums over there that linked to here for Pachi questions.

Chrisdice, your knowledge of slot machines would be of great value over on that message forum. There are also a bunch of vendors who sponsor that forum who have provided me with great parts/service for my slot machines. (I'm not related to any of the vendors -- just a happy customer of a few of them.)

Default 83F error, but doesn't clear using clear chips.

Hi, found this thread that seems to have similar problems to mine. I posted this in slottechforum.com, but this thread seems eerily close to my problem, although my machine did work recently, just messed up by my option setting. Chris or KlickIt, think you can help??

I'm a newbie/home user with a bally pro slot 5500 double blazing 7's. I hope you veterans out there can find humor in my situation and provide some help.
The machine was working well and I used the instruction manual (from internet) to learn about the options. It's a dollar coin machine and I was trying to figure out a way to not have to use the coin hopper for payouts as well as the machine was defaulted to automatically payout when your credits exceed 800. Just got the machine and didn't have any tokens or ike coins.
Stupid me I went and set options 54 Coin Hopper Pay Amount to zero, 56 Credit Collect Lockup to 9999, 51 Credit Top Limit to 9999, and 58 Win Lockup to 9999. Option 51 and 58 changed to 9999 automatically when I changed option 56 (I now realize I should have left 56 (or perhaps 0??) and 58 at 800, default). At the time I was happy that I did not have to deal with faking a payout through the hopper when I hit 800 credits.
But the worst/luckiest thing happened, I hit the progressive for 9k, and because of my settings 9k in credits went up. I cautiously tried to lose as many credits as possible (I know I should have stopped playing), but kept hitting jackpots (playing 1 credit was too slow). The machine went into tilt when my credits exceed 9999. It shows an 83f error.
JW10 (SRAM CLR) was in OUT position and I tried it in ON and powered up pushing test and pseudo coin. Nothing and returned JW10 to OUT. Manual says Jw10 is shipped in ON position though. Is this correct? Also it says SafeRAM Clear (unused) does this mean it doesn't matter what position it's in?
I bought clear chips for 5500 and replaced U12/U15 per manual, power on while pressing Test and Pseudo Coin, but no CHC/CLC. I tried it again with JW10 ON. Still 83F error.
Is there anything else I can do to restart the machine? Could my clear chips be wrong? I've heard that s6000 machine/boards are put inside 5500 bodies? Do I need s6000 clear chips?
Sorry for the long message, but I wanted to be thorough as I know it's an older machine that the pros here don't work on alot these days. Thanks for this great forum and any help you guys can provide.

Sounds like you did everything that I did initially to try and get my machine working. Yours sounds to me like you filled up the RAM and it is not clearing for some reason. I think that chip plugs in so you might try removing it and putting it back in and them doing the reset with J10 on and not the clear RAM chips in. Removing it will definitely clear it out. Might wait for Chris to chime in before you do it though. He might have a simple fix. My board was actually bad and I had to replace it. A 6000 board is completely different than a 5500 board so you most likely have the 5500. I think there are some pictures earlier in this thread.
