Bally arm on pachislo?

We are all going to be experts on these Bally machines before this thread ends. Another minor problem has come up. The BV never goes green to accept bills. I thought that this was due to the bill rack not being installed but I got it today and installed it and it still does not go green. Can't figure out now how to get the bill rack back out now or get parts of the BV out to inspect them. There is a keyed switch above the bill box that I don't have the key for. Does that have anything to do with it or is that just some kind of external reset. Any BV experts out there?

get the model number off the bv and type that in google youll be amazed what technical data you can find even the manual in most cases .

Sorry can't help with the BV. We use jcm's WBA's and UBA's and also MARS Cashflows. Like i said earlier, I never heard of checkmatic.
I'm getting together some stuff to send you. Do you have a jackpot reset key? its a small gold key that should fit in the side somewhere. You need this to reset jackpots and also get to the soft meters and history's. I have an extra if you need.

There is a key activated switch on the side of the machine that I do not have a key to. I think that must be what you are referring to. If you have one that would be great. I have the PDF manuals coming that Birdbrain recommended (second one) so I am hoping after I get it I can figure out how to put a different BV in it. The CPU has been working great. I have a couple hundred credits built up so I don't have to deal with the coin jams for a while. I look forward to your care package. I greatly appreciate the help and guidance everyone has given me on this project.

So you figured out how to accumulate credits. Was it just a matter of pressing the credit cashout button or did you modify settings? As soon as i track down an optics (COD) board I'll send your stuff out.

on my 8 liners i just put a momentary button in place of the validator. each tap adds 500 credits.

Actually I just won enough times after a few quarters to build up 200 credits. So I got them the hard way. Modification? Sounds interesting. How do I do that?

when you get your prints on the machine you see a single line that pulses credits from the bv. hook the switch to this wire and you will also find in th manual an option to set your credits per input. probably a dip switch.

Got this manual yesterday and it is quite comprehensive. Everything you want to know about Bally S5500 machines is in there. Plus it has the S6000 manual and a couple others. Can't beat it for $15. Amazing what you (birdbrain) can find on Fleabay. Just what I needed.

Your package is on the way. In addition to the CC16 and optics board , I sent you you some LED's to replace the all the button and denom bulbs. That way you never have to worry about them burning out again. Also some buttons and switches. I'm sorry theres nothing I can do about your Bill Val. Other members have helped me out in the past and sent me parts when I needed so I'm glad I could pay it forward.

Looking forward to receiving my care package. I did get the BV to go green and ready to accept bills. Believe it or not I found a penny jammed into the bill opening. Removed it and it recycled and went green. It will not accept the new bills and I don't have any old bills to test it with. Might be able to change the head later to a more well known validator and one that has been upgraded to new bills. Or maybe some kind Pachitalk member could send me a care package of old $100 bills. Just a couple would do the trick.

I did read most of the manual and found out what the DIP switches are for. I set it up for "Crazy Spin" so the reels randomly start in different directions. Makes it more interesting to play. I'll keep everyone posted as to the final repairs. Maybe we can put this thread to rest soon.

Well I checked the manual and I couldn't find a specific list of BV's. You need to change the dip switches and it gives you a choice of GPT/ JCM DBV, IBA, SRA or JCM CBA. Cant tell if anyone of those is Gamemax. What does it look like? Or maybe I need to take a picture of mine.

1's haven't changed. Does it take ones? just might need to be cleaned and calibrated.
