    Default Ultimate Bandit Arm

I'm not a fan of Bandit arms. But, I'm thinking about using one on a "special project." One of the complaints about most arms is that they are just spring loaded. Here are some links to some stuff that looks interesting - but expensive. The mechanism is about $75 and that doesn't include the arm.

    Here's an exploded view:

    And here are the arms:

I think the only one I would use that handle on is a Spin luck and I'd go for the deluxe. 2 switches on it already so it could do Max bet at the same time.

I think the "premier" has the 2 switches as well. The "deluxe" adds a lock out so if no credits are on the meter, it can't be pulled. The premier is the one I'm looking at.

Let us know how it goes. I installed 5 of the basic arms that I purchased off of ebay. It is ok but you are correct- it does not have the feel.

I sold 5 machines this xmas season and everyone of my customers asked to have the arm installed. I don't like them but many folks are asking.

Gwarzin; I live close to that Wico place. So I went over there to check and buy the arm kit. The owner there said that they would not work on a Pashislo, only on the American Las Vegas type slot machines. All I wanted to do was get the measurements for the mechanism. The online site is in metric and I could not make out the measurements. I finally said that I wanted the Premier 12-1810. Which I thought would be $75 bucks. He said that the mechanism was $125 bucks plus the handle and hardware. I said thanks but no thanks. So I ordered one on line for $69.95 including shipping from Ocean State Slots (1st-slots.com). I know I most likely will never use it be I wanted it to look a little like an American one.

Okay, I have to count myself in the camp of enthusiast who do not like to alter the pachislos unnecessarily from their Japanese forms, however, since I have begun to sell some machines, I am constantly bombarded with the "Where's the arm?" question. Along with "It is no fun without the arm." This drives me crazy, however, you know all about the supply and demand.

In response to this question I have offered to install bandit arms on the machines for my customers. This has usually satisfied the customers in question (okay only two so far), but one of them wanted to hear / feel the ratcheting sound that electro-mechanical American machines make.

When I told them what an American machine would cost, in addition to the lack of fun the machines have (IMHO) they gave up and stuck with the standard arm mod.

My question is this, have any of you used the Wico mod and does it make the ratcheting sound? If not, it seems to me like all of the talent represented here could put our heads together and devise an even more American ratchet type arm kit.

    Please advise.

    Thanks. ~spooner

Not trying to steal your post but I have a question about the arm kits. I was thinking about purchasing one but the webb site i was on said they fit all pachislo machines except Takasago I have a Dream seven Max. Do you or anyone know the reason they won't work on Takasago machines PS If you come up with a ratcheting arm I.m in on buying one.

I have never tried to attach one to a Takasago machine, but as far as I know, the only requirement is that there is clearance for the arm inside (and out) of the cabinet. i.e. that you would not be drilling through any circuit boards, etc.

I am sure there are members here who can answer better due to more experience, but this is my take on it.

PS If you come up with a ratcheting arm I.m in on buying one.
I hope with all of the great minds on this site that we will be able to devise one, but it may be a while. I am pretty comfortable on the electronic/electrical side of the equation, but could use some help on the mechanical engineering / fabrication side. :-) I will keep you in mind.

P.S. Welcome to the site! ~spooner

Like I said in the post on Jan 17, 2005. The guy did not want to bother with me. All I wanted to do was get the dimensions in ins. Maybe one of the others guys here may have a Las Vegas type slot. And get that info and email or call this guy. But like I said the cost was going to be too high. Maybe you could cut a deal with him.

Hey Tank. I don't want peeps flooding you with PM's so I was just wonderin' if I got my foot in the door first?

That being said, if I did or did not get in on this. Is this a ratcheting type assembly? If so, if I can get my hands on it, I have a friend with a foundry and it might be cheaper for us to copy these bad boys and make them ourselves ... just a thought.

    Thanks ~spooner

Strange! I'm not sure how you snuck your reply in before my last post ... but that's cool. must be a time warp or somethin! Anyway, as soon as I get ahold of the groovy vegas arm, I will maysure it and post the dee-menshuns.

Then I will see if there is a way to cast the parts ourself so we can make a pachitalk brand arm. It will, of course, have two switches for both spin and maxbet.

I will keep you all posted.

    Thanks. ~spooner
