    Default My gaming table build

I am part of a fundraiser here in town to send some of our middle school kids to Washington DC for a trip in the spring. As a fundraising effort, we are having a "Little Reno Night" and that has provided me the perfect excuse to build a table which will ultimately go in my game room. Here are the photographs of the finished product...

I winged it. Had the layout and built the table around it.

    Great work!

That reminds me of the "fancy eating table" from the Beverly Hillbillies. Where are the fancy "pot passers"?

Thanks for all the nice comments. This is my first table. Considering how well it came out, I've lost my apprehension about building a poker table and hope to start on one soon. I always thought the padded rail would be a lot of trouble, but it turned out to be a lot easier than I thought. (It was by far the biggest expense, nearly $60 for the vinyl, and much of it discarded)

I wing things as I go, though. I will develop a general plan and read up on how to finish certain steps, and I look at a lot of photographs. I never go in with a set-in-stone plan. The felt wasn't long enough to cover the chips area, the plexi-glass around the sides was an afterthought, and I used a bucket to draw in some of the turns, and a garbage can lid for others. I'm kind of suprised it worked out. To be honest, it is not the same as I had originally pictured in my mind.

I made the top removable and it will ulitmately function as a hinged cover for a cabinet in the game room, easily removed so that it can be used. I hope to build a second top for the table, a blackjack felt, which will be smaller and won't consume so much space when set up.
