2007 Christmas Poem
Christmas 2007
What can I say , Its that time of year .
When everyone wishes you holiday cheer…
With your family arriving and your budgets out of sight.
The turkey is in the oven and your uncle’s in a fight .
Your sister is in rehab. Your brother is in jail.
Your wife’s on the phone telling you the potato chips are stale.
Is it any wonder that you want to end it all!!
But your phone rings again and you answer the call.
Your daughter’s at Macy’s.Your son is in L.A.
He’s had an epiphany and thinks he is gay!
Your father can’t make it he’s got a new muscle car.
Your mother’s in A.A. and needs a ride home from the bar.
So you turn the key and start up the car.
And drive down the road but you don’t get very far.
Your back rear tire decides to let go.
You end up in a ditch in need of a tow.
You think to yourself this is just great.
One of those things. Just a strange twist of fate.
You try your cell phone and find it is dead.
By now your face has turned twenty shades of red.
You abandon your car and start to walk back.
Your totally amazed you’re not having a heat attack.
Then you remember and take a pill from your pocket.
Prozac works great! If you haven’t tried it don’t knock it!
If this sounds like your holiday, I wish you the best.
At least your one-step ahead of the rest.
If not you’re at home with family and friends.
Enjoying your blessings as the good book intends.
