Default CR Looney Tunes BIA (Back In Action)

The long awaited Loony Tunes pachinko by Bisty finally arrived here today. It was announced in April 2007 and was introduced into the parlors May 21, 2007. Here is a link to Bisty's web-site for more details. LOONEY TUNES

    Tunes - 1.jpg

Unfortunately it arrived with a broken glass. Perhaps Wile was trying too hard to catch the Road Runner. It's a good thing that I have a spare glass on hand.

    A picture of the cell.

The plastic pipe section with the Looney Tunes title is actually an animatronic door which lowers down. This exposes a mirror which is displaying various animated graphics. These graphics are cleverly generated on the portion of the main LCD screen which is hidden by the lowered door. These graphics show "mini" cartoons as well as the indicator to press the "Chance" button. Daffy's right arm hammers down on the door while Wile watches.

    Tunes - 4.jpg

There are three yellow "pipes" to the left and above Bugs. During fever rounds the end of the pipes extend out an inch and a half and are lit within. The pipe articulation is done in sync to the music. During some reaches, the pipes act as cannons with black smoke billowing out across the screen.

As with the cartoons, Bugs is the main character and beside him is Speedy Gonzales.

    Tunes - 5.jpg

Yosemite Sam, Marvin Martian and Sylvester.

    Tunes - 6.jpg

    Porky and the Tasmanian Devil.

    Tunes - 7.jpg

And we couldn't forget the Road Runner ...

    Tunes - 8.jpg

The music is typical Looney Tunes and that is a good thing. So far today it hasn't gotten on my nerves yet.

The animation is the fancy 3D stuff which may have been taken from the recent movie. I haven't seen the movie so I don't know for sure. The fever rounds have some signs in Japanese and the speech is Japanese as well. The spin rounds and fever graphics are varied and are done very well, but I wish that the actual spin animation were done better.

The lights are numerous, constantly varying in intensity and hue, and are of typical Sankyo/Bisty quality.

Aside from a few petty details, the sum is definitely greater that the whole and it is a game deserving of being "Looney Tunes". It is accessible, fun, entertaining and a keeper.

I doubt wether we'll see many for sale here before this Christmas but there is always next year! (Or Arby)

I'll be trying to import a couple more for friends and family.

I actually work for Warner Bros. here in Burbank, California and I've heard from our Japan office that this was pretty popular. Can't wait to play it.

And here's a insider tip...be on the lookout for Batman Begins. They say it's the best franchised pachinko yet!

(But then they always say that!)
