As promised here is the start of our holiday blog. It is 8.30 here in the UK and we are sat in the departure lounge, having gone through bag check in and security. Only 2 hours until our flight is due to leave. Attached is a picture of our plane, which is a jumbo (first time we have been on one).

Well we are here, safe and sound after a long flight - but we did actually arrive around 15 minutes earlier than scheduled. We are checked into the hotel and it is now 7.45pm local time (which is around 12.45am in the UK), we have now been on the go around 20 hours so are starting to feel a little tired

Wow it is warm as well

Anyway the free wi-fi access appears to work

Oh by the way Sid was right about the children, we have left them at home with my grandparents. Amy has only just turned 3 and we felt she was still maybe a couple of years too young to enjoy Disney.

It gets cold up here in north Florida. We get freeze warnings.

People laugh when I tell them that I have a Fireplace in my Florida Home.

And all this coming from a person who was originally from Long Island New York.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking motherdom and all that goes into it but that's a lifetime position you can't retire from anyway and hardly what I'm referring to.

55 degrees out tonight, I think Chrish brought some of his UK weather with him

this is the coolest week we have had since early spring.

Well day 2 of our holiday was spent at the Magic Kingdom. After enjoying our free continental breakfast at the hotel we caught our free bus to the resort.

The first thing to say was it was suprisingly quiet, we have been before in November - but yesterday seemed quiter than last time.

Anyway we had a great day and below are the rides we went on:

Big thunder mountain x2
The haunted mansion x1
It's a small world x1 (one of our favourites)

Luckydog was right about the weather though, it went very cool in the evening, but still warm enough for us still be in shorts and tea shirt.

In the evening Sam and I enjoyed a nice steak.
