    Default Parents stopped over

My parents were in town to watch a musical that my oldest daughter is in, and they tried their hand at my Julie pachinko. My mom played for about 25 minutes with a TON of reaches, but no fevers. My dad sat down and got a fever in about 5 minutes. It was funny listening to them talk about how he was luckier than her, but she was the one the "loosened" up the machine.

Anyway, they have been wanting some sort of "game" for in their "50's room" in their basement. It is all decked out with real restored restaurant booths, and a full size soda fountain (soda and ice cream, plus all the toppings)... Anyway, they originally were thinking of a pinball machine, but don't want to consume that much room, so the idea of a pachinko came to mind after playing mine.

I said that they could get a vintage pachinko machine for pretty cheap, but they said that they would rather have a modern one, but with a "1950's" theme. I was thinking Marilyn Monroe pachinko, but what others are out there that aren't too expensive?

Not sure about the "modern Pachinkos" with a fifty's theme, but can I get a vanilla sundae with all the toppings please!

My basement is also 50's style, but probably not as elaborate as theirs. My room has 3 Pachislos keeping in the theme. Betty Boop, TWIST and Hound Dog. My Pachinkos really don't fit the theme, but I couldn't resist. There is a Betty Boop Pachinko out there if you can get your hands on one. Perhaps Arby has one, not sure. I love the Betty Pachislo.

There's also a pachislo that looks like an old jukebox with the neon-like lights...can't remember what the title is though. I think, in general, you'll find more pachislots that fit this theme.

Yeah, they really liked the pachinko idea more than a pachislo... I'll keep looking, but if people here don't know about one, then there probably isn't one...

Well if they liked Julie and they where thinking of getting a pinball, then wouldn't Julie be a good choice??

Good point! I have a Julie in my 50's basement. The white case blends in nicely with my Red/Black/White decor.

True, but the pinball was going to be a true "vintage" machine... Julie IS pinball, but at the same time, the music wouldn't fit the era. Who knows, they may not end up doing anything about the idea too.
