Default Yamasa Co Type A "Epselan" Stuck in reset mode!

    Hello, all -

I'm new here and needing help with a machine purchased about 5 years ago. The problem started a while back, so I moved the machine to storage, and now would like to fix it, but there are no retailers in my area who service these things.

The problem: the machine is stuck in the settings mode. I turn the power on and it goes to the mode where I can change the game level, but I can't get the thing to go into normal "play" mode. I've run through all of the steps in the manual several times. I have a feeling the problem is coming in at the step where you have to pull the spin lever - I don't think that is registering with the machine's computer for some reason. Also none of the lights of the circuit board light up when I push any of the buttons on the outside of the machine (the lever, the max bet, the stop reels buttons).

I can get you photos or more details if they will be helpful
Any information is very much appreciated,

    - Levi

It sounds as if the machine is remaining in re-set mode. After pressing the spin lever, the next step is usually to return the reset switch (whether a key switch or a toggle switch) to the normal position. The machine should initialize when you do that.

pull and clean the leads going to the spin knob at both ends.a little corrosion after storage is the norm. go ahead and do the same to all the plugs while your at it.

check the fuse on the small pc board mounted on the side of the machine thats your reel stop relay board if that fuse is blown your buttons wont work . if it blows again then unplug your hopper and try again most fuse problems on this board are caused by faulty hoppers. also clean all your buttons with windex on a paper towel push them in then clean the inside of the barrel the button rides in with the towel that will usually free up a sticky button .a stuck button will also prevent the others from working .next step is to check the key switch or toggle switch you use to enter the reset mode if its defective you'll never get back to regular mode . try these things and get back to us with your results .
