    Default Arm Kits

Was wondering how hard they are to install, and do they have the feel of a real slot arm?

Where is the best(cheapest) place to get them?

To me, it's a looks only thing. $50 to $60 for something that will just go unused on my machines. Even in the casinos, I use the bet / spin buttons. How many people do you see in casinos using the arms anymore?

I suppose if you wanted to "trick out" a slot, and make it as "Vegas" looking as possible it would be OK. I could be wrong, but I don't think these kits have the ratchet mechanism that real bandits have... just a spring. So to me, the feel wouldn't be the same. Just looks.

Yeah... I wanted that at first... on my first slot... and I wanted to convert it to quarters... and auto-stop... AND have a cocktail waitress.

Now... come to think of it... even a cocktail waitress would only be for looks. I'm not sure about the "feel" of that option, though.

So, I've talked myself out of everything except the cocktail waitress.
But, I hear Lew has cornered the market on those. :-P

It does seem like alot of money for nothing.

Most people out there sell the arm kits for $69.99 plus $15-$20 shipping.

So you end up paying like $90 for a chrome stick?
Almost half the price of a slot.

If they don`t have a ratchet mechanism, just a spring...I guess I`ll keep my $90 and play with my own stick.

or....maybe I`ll give the $90 to Lew and he can send one of his cocktail waitresses over

I agree those chrome sticks with springs really don't make it for me either. Sorry but I have only one waitress and she is currently occupied  (Yeah right she ain't even here and I'll be lucky to see her here on token/pachinko ball pickup day (Saturday  )

Ive never done one(somply for the fact I heard they are a pain in the arse). I would like one on the SPin Luck though, when you push the joystick down it sounds like a slot arm being pulled.

Yes, I agree the Spin Luck would be the only machine I'd ever put one on. Even at that, I won't ever do it. They just look cheesy to me. They don't look like the one's in the casino's, just cheap.

This is the biggest hurdle new pachislo owners have to get over it the, "I want to Americanize my machine", concepts. It's the natural first reaction and one that costs more people more up front money they wished they'd never spent later.

I have installed 2 of them. One on a basic 3 wheel machine just to give it the "Americanized look. And on the Terminator machine. It takes about 30-60 minutes depending how much room you got. For the newer machines I don't think its worth it.
The one extra thing I did on these 2 was wire it so when you pull the handle it does the max bet and spin all at once. Which makes it nice and easy to use.
As for the looks they look good but they do use a spring and if you pull the handle and let go like alot of people do it slams back and makes alot of noise.
