this is my first post, so dont harras me too bad if it has already been mentioned, or sounds dumb...

but has anyone tried Dynamat? it is used in car audio systems to dampen vibrations and such. i used to use it behind license plates to keep them from vibrating when i had my system cranked up. it also prevented the sound from escaping the cab of my truck.

maybe it could be used to line the inside of the cabinet, as well as maybe line the inside of the ball bucket that they drop into. its pretty durable, and is sticky on one side, and can be molded sort of, with a heat gun.

just an idea.. the stuff isnt cheap, but if it gets the job done, and allows you to play without disturbing the people 3 floors down, it might be worth it.

Sorry to be a Johnny come lately on the pinball issue.
I have found that taking a rubber muffler hanger,
cutting it flat, and placing one under each leg
does indeed help "insulate" the noise transferred to the floor.
Yeah the solenoids in a pinball can be quite loud. One solution too
is to move into a lower level apartment. Also I agree about insulating the
cabinet. that is a known solution for noise.
Indiana Jones is a rare game indeed. It plays well and seems not to
break down like other members of its generation.

Solenoids could be made a little quieter by simply rubber mounting them to a cabinet using rubber washers.
