I went with Poplar for the frame work around the machine and the top hopper. It's a hard wood that will hold up well.

If I go with some sort of hard wood, I am going oak so when I stain the wood, it matches everything else I have in my house.

Just need to know how thick/thin it needs to be if it is oak.

Oak it is... Picked up the wood today over lunch... So, off to the "build thread" for updates and pictures as I go.
