Question HI!!! need a little help identifying my machines...

Hi. I finally found a pachinko forum... AWESOME!!!>..

I started my pachinko addiction about a month ago. My neighbor threw out a nishijin super deluxe of some sort, a saynko 2jet, and a ichgin machine...

I am mechanically minded to getting them to work just took a lot of cleaning, removing various bits of kids toys, coins, and a little bit of mechanical know-how. I was able to get the lights working by adjusting and cleaning the switch contacts, replacing some bulbs and adding power supplies...

I just bought 3 more machines, 2 of which are the same style nishijin super deluxe as my other one(lighter colored formica, brown plastic guts) just different playboards, and the third is a very old nishijin that is a 1-ball at a time machine with glass front instead of plexiglass and theres alot more metal parts/guts in the back on the machine.

All in all i have to say i absolutely love the vintage pachinkos and i doubt i will ever get rid of them...

Ok on to my questions:as a collector how do i???

#1 how do i date these machines(when were they made?)
#2 how do i identify what exact model they are???
#3 are other people as obsessed as me with these things??? before im done im going to have a wall of the things lol...

Hi, I don't know much about vintage models but I would say the best place to start is by posting pictures. And Welcome to Pachitalk.

    WHew that took awhile lol...

How did i get the first 3 so nice you ask???

has bad rusty chrome on all 3. Used a piece of crumpled aluminum foil with some blue magic brand metal polish. ALso used the blue magic polish on the light mica fascia cheaned and shined it bettere then new. I used a ton of toothbrushes, q-tips, and foaming glass cleane rin a can fo reverything else. It samazing how nasty these machines get. I have started to cleanup th elatest 3 but havent done too much to them yet...

thanks. I tried my best. None of them are perfect but they came out ok. I still need to replace the plexi in most of them... Unfortulately a few of the superdeluxes do have moisture damage behind the playfield but my 2jet, ichigin, and my one-baller od not have any moisture damage. I know people really frown on it but to be honest if the game plays nicely i could really care less lol.. Im not going to say how much i have in all 6 machines but lets just say i have a very affordable new hobby...

ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY THESE MACHINES???

There's very little/no info on machines before 1990, these being 60-70.

Like the single shot, I'm a big fan.
Yours is a slightly 'newer' model, the parts in the back are more manufactured, instead of hand made.

They're pretty pricey in Japan being very rare because they sent them all here!

    WELCOME!!

There is a thread somewhere on PT that tells how to find the age of vintage pachinkos, I can't seem to find it right now, but maybe someone else knows were it is...I think it used to be in the LINKS section, but I don't see that area anymore!!

I'm not sure, but the games you have appear to be from the 1970's. So whichever formula yields that time frame is probably the correct one. If you do a Google search with the words "date manufacture pachinko" you may find a guy from Great Britain whose website has some info on proper dating. He also has a lot of games like yours with names and date of manufacture, etc. in a mini museum he has created. I used to have the link but it did not make the transfer to my current computer. Sorry.

As regards game names, remember Japanese words often translate to ideas or concepts and not just a noun or verb. This means you might have a word that would translate to "The wonderful cherry tree by the winding stream".

When the game was imported into the US, some retailer just looked at the playing field graphics, saw a cherry tree and a snow-capped mountain, and arbitrarily named it "Mount Fuji Cherry Wars". Another retailer might then decide to call it "Views of Japan". The bottom line is don't get to hung up on the older games' names. If you don't have any English on the game play field, it could be called anything or have no name at all.

    Welcome,

I agree with Compirate, I like the single shot one. It's appears to be a very late model single shot. The back of the machine is typical of a mid 70's machine. Very intersting

the back of the single shot looks nothing like the machanisms of any of my other 5 machines... including my 3 other nishijin machines...

its interesting. It doesent "eject" spent balls out the back like the rest of my machines...
Wether they win or lose, the fired ball or "sphere"goes into a mid-hopper.
Balls are drawn from the mid hopper when i hit a winning hole. If the mid hopper gets low(very rarely lol) , a lever moves up that moves some linkage that allows more winner balls to flow down from the top hopper... all my other machines have 99% plastic guts, this one actually has some metal in it...

its really neat. Just not my favorite as it is so slow to play lol.. but its neat none the less... i havent decided if im going to keep it or not...

I think i found the proper way to date these machines thanks to pachi_sloter . It makes alot more sense to me..
